I know it’s a risk, but I’m not convinced the joint practices are a good substitution for preseason games. I’d like to see him play at least 1 half in 1 game—or 1 quarter in 2 games—moving forward. At least for a couple of years. He’s not Mahomes or Allen or Burrow where he can just walk out there Week 1 and immediately look in midseason form.
