Shough's incompletion deep to Vele was an insanely good throw...

There was pressure up the middle, Shough was backpedalling, threw it 35+ yards off of his back foot, and it landed in the absolute perfect location for Vele to catch the ball. The defender made a great play on it, but I wish Vele had tried turning around and catching the ball higher. That would have eliminated the chance of getting YAC, but made it more likely that he would get the catch, and also increased the chances that he'd draw a PI, since the defender definitely wasn't looking back at the ball.

It really was, and the lack of a call was even more egregious than what the broadcast even admitted. Shough had a really rough 4th quarter, but he still threw a bunch of dimes the rest of the game

I think the Raiders could be a surprise team.
Not a gang buster but a team you aren't excited to face.
Shough has the maturity to overcome moments like this I think so that's good.
He still hasn't even played a full season slate of games but there is reason to be optimistic.

Anemic pass protection is going to hurt the Saints for the rest of the season. Im not even mad at the fumble on the last drive. They were putting in good effort. But “try” is only going to do so much when you’re getting dominated on the Oline.

for most of the game the Raiders pass rush was neutralized. The Saints were getting enough on the ground to keep them honest.
but when the momentum flipped it was all over. Part of it was on the refs for sure but when you start making mistakes on your own and get caught in the quicksand then you're really screwed. It was only an eight-point final when the Saints turned it over 4 times in the fourth quarter.
I just hope they take it out on the Falcons.

Once the Raiders lose they will spiral downward. Not a playoff team.

The good news for the Saints is that the problems are mostly on the right side of the OL. Richards did fairly well replacing banks, but looking to the future:
Banks/Edwards/McCoy are OK.
RG Ruiz fricking sucks, and RT Fuaga has shown flashes but not looking great generally.
We've obviously been iffy with our OL draft picks, but if we want to fill those positions in free agency, those are cheaper/easier to find than the left side. Just don't tard out and give Ruiz/Fuaga a big extension like we did with Peat.
If the Saints are looking like they've got a good chance at winning the division before the trade deadline, I'd hope that they'd look into trading for a competent RG from a tanking team. That may legit help Fuaga.
