Seems to me that itd be an even better frick you to Godell if we get CSP back, demolish everyone in our path, win the superbowl, and when Godell goes to hand over the trophy to Sean he doesnt shake his hand, doesnt smile at him, doesnt even acknowledge him in any way. The crowd would go apeshit and start chanting "frick you Ro-ger" and then youd see Sean laughing as he looks around the stadium at the fans.
THAT would be a great frick you to the NFL and the fans who supported Godell. This would obviously never happen though since everyone is obsessed with "being classy" these days.

But for the team we have in place right now to make a run with? I want him here. These years of Brees in his prime paired with SP are pretty precious, I'd rather not lose one.

THIS. I want Payton/Brees to go down as an all-time best coaching/QB combo by hopefully winning two more SBs. If that is to happen, we need every season possible. The window is already closing. Losing a year doesn't help.

Regardless of tomorrow's outcome I don't think the coaches get involved. Vilma is at the end of his career and had nothing to lose so he said frick you to the NFL and threw up a hail Mary.

The coaches went away too quietly to make me think they weren't told to take this punishment quietly or you'll have a difficult road ahead

no doubt...

I do think the silver lining is that we might have him as our coach for 10+ years now as opposed to the end of Brees' tenure.

Mates, the bigger question is how will this effect "essayist, poet, director, artist, whistleblower" Sean Pamphilon? How will he react when he sees these mercenaries take the playing field after having served no suspensions???

There's no chance Payton is back. None. The judge's rulings won't affect him.

And while the 5th Circuit is extremely conservative, deference is always given to a trial court. We'll see.

you live in fantasy land, this team is motivated to play football because its their job and the fact that its missing one of the best coaches in the nfl is a big obstacle that anger will not overcome.the saints are a better football team with sean payton on the sidelines period.

I have a hermit crab that changed shells. I saved his old shell with him in his current habitat. Today he climbed out of his shell and got back into the old one. My hermit crab is a shell of his former self.

I'm with Lester. The guy on Mike and Mike really seemed to know his shite. Unfortunately, it seems that if the judge rules in favor of the players, it will be immediately appealed by the NFL and almost certainly overturned by the next court. They will agree that the CBA gives Goodell the power to do so.

This is good and all, but I'd rather have Payton. The best thing about this isn't getting quality players back, its giving a big "frick you" to Goodell

it was on Mike and Mike. They had Schefter on, and the next segment had a lawyer that actually knew law.

if you're referring to the lester munson guy or whatever his name is, he's been wrong multiple times already about this whole case...and was wrong about a lot of the lockout last year. We'll see what happens.

Not 100% but I am pretty sure the granting of a TRO and preliminary injunction (which Vilma is seeking) is not appealable until after trial (probably a year out at best).

It was also stated in the CBA, that in order to have that kind of power, evidence must be provided. Of which there has been none

It's one thing for this judge to overrule the NFL's kangaroo court expediently to err on the side of right to work. It's quite another for a different judge to overturn an actual JUDGE'S decision and to keep men from earning a living until they've had a legitimate trial.

No it's not. The 5th circuit will uphold the law within the CBA.

If they provide evidence it's over for Vilma, and vice versa. But yes according to the CBA the evidence must be provided to all parties involved

ESPN hinted yesterday that the evidence might have come from a player that was still on thr team. I believe they said that the source must be named when giving the evidence. That would be interesting
