Saints v. falcons injury report

Let’s get back to Saints football! I hate Thursday Night Football. At least it’s a home game.
Since it’s a short week, the teams only have to report an estimated injury report. Below is the estimated injury report for the falcons yesterday.
LB Duke Riley Shoulder FP (full practice)
CB Robert Alford Foot LP (limited practice)
LB De’Vondre Campbell Thigh LP
LB Deion Jones Foot LP
S Damontae Kazee Shoulder LP
WR Calvin Ridley Thigh LP
CB Desmond Trufant Thigh LP
Deion Jones suffered a broken foot the first game of the season and hasn’t played since. Not sure if he will play Thursday or not. Looks like he didn’t go through walk-throughs last night though.
Good news for the Saints. Davenport (toe) was listed as limited yesterday and Larry Warford was listed as a full participant (concussion).
Others on the Saints Injury list: Max Unger (quadricep), Tre’Quan Smith (foot), Terron Armstead (pectoral), Jermon Bushrod (hand) and Andrus Peat (knee)

Most of these guys are just getting veteran's days off. Smith is getting a break after dragging his balls on the eagles all day on Sunday. With these short weeks you really need your older guys to recover as much as they can.

I think we should hold Davenport out one more game. Though I would love to see him drag his nuts across Matt Ryan’s face

The last thing we want is for that toe injury to come back.

Whole lot of testicles across face references to start this thread.

Does it make you uncomfortable?

The toe injury isn't going away. It's about the pain and swelling aspect.
It'll need months of rest or surgery to fully heal.
I say if it isn't swelling bad after some running on it and he can take the pain, let him go on it. This game is important.

Depends on severity, mild turf toe can be fine after 3-4 weeks, moderate may take 6-8 weeks but you can come back before that. Severe will need surgery and a full offseason but some players still finish the season out playing with it. He’s been out close to a month I believe, maybe next Sunday will be a month. It wouldn’t bother me to wait till these Thursday night games are done with and bring him back, that will put him around 6 weeks of recovery time, then come back and play 10-12 snaps his first game to get his feet wet again and be ready to roll after that.
After saying all that, he will probably get 40 snaps this Thursday

It's about the most disrespectful thing you can do to someone. Pretty much what we're going to do to the Falcons on Thursday night.

Man, I knew you were gonna zoom in on my wording.
My point is I don't want to aggravate it by playing him too early.
And do we really need him to beat the Falcons at home on primetime during a holiday?

"Fine" is not fully healed though. It's not going to be fully healed until after the season.
That's all I'm saying. He should be fine by this game or the next, but one more week isn't going to make it completely go away.

I can’t argue that. Hopefully it doesn’t slow him down

Nope. They'll have a hard enough time trying to block Okafor & Hendrickson.

And I fully agree. That's why they'll test it and see how it reacts.
If it starts swelling up again they won't push it.
As far as beating Atl, I don't want to leave anything to chance. IF he can go let him go.

I was thinking 3 more weeks but you are correct

I want Davenport healthy for the playoffs. I wouldn’t mind if we held him out until we play the Panthers.
