Freak injury in college.
Then he had the shoulder this year just saying people are acting like he's not going to play.
No one knows that and if he doesn't get hurt again he was a steal in the third

Yeah didn't mean shitting on him just don't think he will get alot and I'm sure they know where he s at in his recovery.
But this demario Davis signing scares me dude was not good the two years before this.
Weird for the lightbulb to come on in age 29 season
I don't mind signing him as the Mike but the money seems high.
Would have spent that money
elsewhere.
Zach Brown would have been nice
P rob signing is fine

I agree. This signing concerns me as he is being paid like a top 5 ILB based on one year of success. The contract, especially the guarantees, is very steep for one year of top production.

Does Klein have enough value to garner a trade?

Seems like the beat option at this point.

The money ain't worth it this year, especially since he'd lose us $1.5 mil currently and the trade would likely happen around the draft before June 1st.

Even after June 1st he'd only save 500k an likely only fetch a late round pick. Better to keep him for depth one more year and then part ways.

Not sure why so many are dead set on getting rid of guys. We have the money. Let Klein play SLB this year. If he sucks, cut him after 2018. What do you think they'd do with his money instead?

Also, if he's cut, you lose depth. Who plays SLB now? Davis and Robertson are our only LBs who don't seem to always be hurt. Kind of like our OL, we need versatile guys that can play multiple positions. Klein isn't great but he can do that.

We still sorely need some athleticism there

Anzalone is a top tier athlete at the lb position (when healthy), Klein and Robertson have not great but adequate athleticism to play the position effectively. Te'o isn't fast but seems to be in position to make the play more often than not. Throw in Davis and we're doing fine.

Nick Underhill @nick_underhill Demario Davis’ three-year deal is worth $24 million. $9.2 million signing bonus. Base salary in 2018 ($850,000) and 2019 ($5.95 million) are fully guaranteed.

So roughly a $4 mil year one cap hit. Right about what I expected.

So about $10 mil per over the last two years, but I expect it to be closer to $9 mil next year, and $11 mil the last year which we can either extend him or cut bait and save $8 mil with only $3 mil dead money.

So basically a 2 year deal that could become 3.

Yeah i actually don't mind the contract now that I've seen it.
Actually pretty decent value.
Suh isn't signing here so i hope they bring in a couple of flyers like Parnell McPhee
