If the same regime is in charge in 5 years the "formerly abused" free agents won't give a rats arse what was done to them at the combine because Payton will still be here thanks to winning a ton of games since they entered league. You do realize that this is the NFL we're talking about don't you? Coaches have been yelling at these guys most of their lives, and yes, money, winning and playing time is the primary motivating factor to NFL players. Comparing them to normal jobs is pointless.

But you can't really judge like that because these jobs are paying much more than 40K+. Would you go somewhere where employer A has a chance to win championships and has great chemistry, but only has cap space to sign you to a veteran's minimum contract or go to the Lions, Saints, etc who can pay you a shite ton more but they had some guys at the combine who acted retarded? Most cases NFL players will choose the money.
