I don’t care how religious you are. In this day and age, if you let your kids be alter boys you’re asking for them to be abused.

Do you home-school your kids?

The evidence is that he wrote emails to the church using his @nfl.com email addy in the first place. In doing so it's already been established that he's incompetent.

It’s not like he is a public official and his emails are public record because he used the Saints email address. The church was releasing a massive list of abusers when this happened. If this happened in the 80s or 90s it would be a different story.

Hey if you don't have a problem with him using official Saints comms to give PR advice to the church dealing with child abuse cases (by Gayle's command or not) that's your prerogative, but I'd venture to say many aren't okay with it.

You are already clutching your pearls and you have NO IDEA what the emails say. Shameful. Go away snowflake.

What the emails say isn't the point, dumbass. The Saints didn't do anything wrong legally (that we know of), however going anywhere near this through official channels was completely unnecessary. Ever heard of a phone call or "off the record"? Saints PR apparently hasn't and deserves this shitstorm.

Dont like the optics of this at all, but i dont think the saints did any kind of coverup for the church. Personally i dont want them involved with the church at all, but thats their right

I got a feeling this going to turn out bad for us... team probably will be taken from Gayle .. which probably isn’t the worst thing if she so into the church that she has Saint’s employees doing anything for the church in ANY capacity... Rita somewhere smiling

PR advice doesn’t mean lies and cover up.

There are a ton of aspects to address via public relations consults. Methods to release information in a clear and informative manner can be hugely helpful in a bad situation. Threading the needle of being frank in the risk and encouraging reporting without creating hysteria and false reports.

Just throwing an untrained guy at a podium to dish what happened isn’t the successful way to practice transparency either. Until you see the emails, you can’t just assume he was advising how to hide and cover - which would be particularly strange in official accounts in writing

Remember after Bountygate happened and the press broke a story that accused Mickey Loomis of listening in on conversations from the boxes of opposing coaches? We saw what a farce that proved to be. This will likely go the same way.

I don’t understand why a profession sports organization is getting involved in the Catholic Churches’ affairs ? Separate the two.
