Pretty certain it wasn't me. I mean, why downvote data?

"No. I reject your reality. Bad reality!"

Actually, I watched a 2016 highlight reel and was surprised at how many times he kinda got happy feet or didn't set his feet for a throw. The ball still got there and most of the plays ended well, but it was disconcerting to see it. I don't know if that much "gunslinger" will be successful in the NFL.

Happy Feet leads to almost intercepted throw
Another back foot/hop throw

I watched them in real time and then .5 speed. The inconsistency and just sandlot play style scares me.

I agree. Saw some highlights that reminded me of Manziel, in a bad way.

Yeah. The WRs did very well at getting YAC.

Read an article earlier tonight: LINK

It has a spreadsheet graphic that goes into what Air Raid QBs have done in the NFL (including where they were drafted). It's from before last season but still shows how poorly they have fared coming to the NFL.
quote:

The Rams made Jared Goff the first overall pick last year, after Goff spent his college career in Sonny Dykes’s air raid at Cal. The jury’s decidedly still out on Goff. Davis Webb, a Texas Tech transfer who landed at Cal under Dykes last season, is also in this year’s class.

The next air raider to prove himself worthy of a top pick will be the first in a long, long while — really, since the air raid became a thing a few decades ago.

Mahomes has a big arm and big college numbers behind him, just like most of the air raid quarterbacks who took this journey before him. Let’s hope he does better than they have.

What dumbass downvotes factual numbers?

You'd be surprised. Some people don't let little things like facts change their mind. It even pisses them off if it contradicts their preconceived notions.

As far as the QB discussion...I'm all for taking a QB(at any pick) if the staff is damn sure that he's the guy that will take over after Brees. DE & Safety NEED to be addressed as well if we decide to go this route.

I'll have to trust the coaching staff on this one, & read the opinions of others on this board. I'm pretty good at identifying talent at RB, WR, & DB...I'm literally the last guy to ask about the QB position. OL & LB don't come very naturally to me either.

Not that it's worth looking much into, but according to Deuce, Joe Lombardi had a workout with Turbisky.

@dmcallister26 In my opinion you are correct.
Joe was in NC looking at Mitch as well

With QB as a not too distant need they need due diligence on all of them more than ever. I don't see any of them as must-pick on value at #11. But whether #32, 42, 102 or even 196 or 229 you need to establish your big board values if one them presented overwhelming value.
