Ive got to believe Benson is smart enough to know that having a dominant franchise and rebuilding a franchise is more lucrative than constantly rebuilding two. I would guess Benson knew what he was doing and didnt just buy the Hornets, then go "Damn, I dont have enough for Brees."

Evans said that Brees hasn't been signed yet possibly due to Benson's greediness.

That is absurd. The NFL makes crazy bank. Each team's share of the national TV deal literally covers the salary cap.

The difference i'n the cap minimum and the cap max is not enough to make a difference to Benson.

Vitt said he's concerned with Ingram being injured in the offseason, but he said he'll be a green-light for training camp.
Carmichael said Brees is staying in contact with him throughout the offseason.
Vitt said they're very close to announcing training camp practices with an upcoming preseason opponent. My bet is the Pats.
Spags right now they're looking for a third cornerback and a nickel guy. White, Patrick, and Marquis Johnson.
Vitt said both Vilma and Smith in the building today.
McMahon said Kasay-Hartley is an open competition.
Vitt said there was a "huge void" missing without Payton at practice.
Vitt said they're still considering signing QB Brian Brohm.
Carmichael said his job won't change much this year. #Saints
Vitt said they're looking into bringing another QB in. Right now Daniel and Canfield only QBs under contract. #Saints
Spags said Hicks didn't look overwhelmed.
Spags said Greg Romeus "looks the part".

Brees hasnt been signed yet because they are waiting for the franchise tag effective date to have leverage...they dont think brees would leave 1.2 million a game on the table
