Will Smith is over paid.
Joe Horn had a bad contract
Aaron Brooks' contract: horrible
just off the top of my head. Thats not even counting the bad drafts he had. the inability to add defensive talent. Not having the balls to push our coaches fire our horrible coordinators.
Do u think its coincidence that our drafts became so much better under Payton than they were under Haslett? The GM was the same; the coaches weren't. Payton's calling the shots, not Loomis.

He's basically Sean Payton's puppet
Maybe the Saints would have been better off without Loomis. They could have just let the City Council pick the coach.

I do like how you say "off the top of my head" like you had those numbers memorized.
Off the top of my head, as in those were the first two that came to mind.

what was my argument? i simply pointed out two bad contracts when someone brought up Loomis being bad at money, I never once tried to state an "argument"
keep calling for the Saints to sign every player that is released. I'm sure you're a BA at Madden!

Ok. You cant seem to comprehend that no matter who they picked 2nd overall, that person was gonna get a huge contract.

it was a huge deal, year wise, that would have paid him until he was like 35. 7 or 8 years if i remember right.
Deuce had to restructure his deal just so he could stay put.

Thats fricking retatrded
if he plays like he did this past year, then yes its retarded. HE has yet to earn the money he has been paid besides this past year.
quote:

he got a 6 year contract extension at 33 or 34 years old

he got a good deal of guaranteed money if i remember right
again, thats not even counting the inability to develop a competitive defense and competent coaching staff
or some of the other deals mentioned like Grant and Reggie Bush
i just never did like the guy from the start, and its painfully obvious Sean Payton bought him a shitload of more time as our GM

Will Smith had the 14th highest total salary among DEs last year. $6,670,000 due to bonuses. His base salary was barealy over 1 million
Thats not overpaying for what Smith gives the team

I understand that
But maybe they shouldn't have drafted Bush #2 overall? Not sure who's fault that is, though.

yes. In regards to player moves. Drafts. free agent signings. trades. etc.
Mickey Loomis DOES NOT KNOW FOOTBALL

Do you really mean that Payton has authority over Loomis?
what the hell is with the questions? I was pretty clear with what I said.
Payton isnt above Loomis on the food chain, but you better believe his opinion weighs heavier than everyone else, including Loomis's

The deal will make Smith the third highest-paid defensive end in the NFL, behind Minnesota's Jared Allen and Indianapolis' Dwight Freeney.
