And that was 20 in a win over rams. We have to fix the offense bc it's clearly the problem. Make a good hire at OC, and I think we have a good shot at being back in playoffs next season

If we scored 21 points a game after the ravens game, we'd be 11-6 getting ready for our home playoff game next week.

I have no idea how Pete Carmichael made it through the whole season as OC. Zero consistency and zero in game adjustments all season long

They’ve pissed away great defense by doing very little on offense. At bare minimum, Pete needs to get whacked. Really and truly dumbarse DA needs to get clipped too.

We stuck with dalton instead of trying to give it a higher ceiling with winston. Horrible decision. Also, i wouldnt get too into those defensive stats, the qbs we have faced in that time are awful. The toughest qbs we faced this season scored 30 ppg against us. our defense is good, but not elite

Entering today, top 10 in traditional total defense and also top 10 in DVOA advanced stats. This is while playing most of the season without one of our best defenders, Lattimore. I think the defense is good enough

It’s also important to note on this thread we have not exactly faced great opposing QB play during this stretch of the season.

When you can get heady veteran moments like forgetting you have 3 TOs or throwing up a deep ball that would've been a turnover to any DB in the league that wasn't working in a coffee shop last month, you can't pass up that opportunity.

Imagine only scoring 20 a game against the Saints during the prime Brees years. LOL you would get skull fricked.

Iggles were without Hurts. Brady never exactly burns it up against our D. Jimmy G was way off when our offense failed to bother to show up at SF.

Eagles scored 34 on Dallas the week before with minshew

The 49ers have scored 30+ in 6 of the 9 games since acquiring mccaffrey. 13 is their lowest total vs saints

Saints 4 toughest qbs faced are burrow, geno, kyler, lamar, and cousins…. Which isnt even an elite good, but just average to good qbs.

Those guys scored 30, 32, 28, 27, and 28 against us. Thats about 30ppg.

The other qbs we have faced since our defense got “better” are:
Derek carr (cut)
Pickett (rookie)
Stafford (hurt mid game)
Jimmy g (backup)
Brady (same ole same ole)
Ridder (rookie backup)
Watson (blizzard and rusty)
Minshew (backup)
Darnold (lost job and gained back due to injury)

The other reason the saints defense got “better” is most of all the guys i just listed arent the mobile qbs that kill the saints. Thats been our defenses weakness for years. The lamars, mahomes, hurts, josh allen, and kylers of the world kill us

Cool. Saints are a top 10 defense in advanced stats and traditional total defense.

Carolina had scored 30+ in 2 of their last 4.
They scored 24 vs bucs last week

Bottom line this is a 7-10 team at season end, and you can sugarcoat it all you want. Yes, the D kept us in many games, but it’s a team game and the offense failed to execute most of the tine.
