Saints coach Sean Payton reportedly "gushed" over Miami WR Phillip Dorsett.

Cooks and Dorsett on the same field together would be awesome!!
After moving on from Jimmy Graham and Kenny Stills this offseason, the Saints are in the market for pass-catchers. Beat writer Mike Triplett calls wide receiver "the position most likely to be addressed at some point in the first three rounds." Dorsett is a bit similar physically to Brandin Cooks at just 5'9/185, but may be available on Day 2. He clocked sub-4.3 forties at his Pro Day and has drawn some DeSean Jackson comps.

Say hello to your #31 pick

I dont know much about the guy but I want more of a physical specimen. think dez bryant, julio jones, kelvin benjamin.

I had an insider told me yesterday the night Payton found out we would be able to draft Reggie Bush, he was so excited that he started drawing plays on napkins at a 5 star restaurant.

This is one pick I just wouldn't understand.

I understand w/ a 2 or 3, not a 1. I have a hard time with seeing 31 pick used on a wr, gotta go defense there, too much value in a variety of positions there. Maybe a G if Irving drops.

It all depends on WHO is there though. If all the top D players are gone along with Kendricks and Peters and most of those guys you may have better value with a receiver (or OL). I wouldn't rule it out.
If Kendricks is there and they pass for Dorsett then I would be miffed. But then again maybe they see something I don't.

I would prefer a bigger WR, but I wouldn't ignore a greater talent with a smaller WR, just to take a lesser talent that is >6'3".

Agree. The reason Seattle was willing to trade that pick is that there isn't going to be any 1st round talent left at 31. Going to be a lot of 2nd round talent being drafted at 20-32, which is why I am all for giving a 3rd to move to the early 20s if a top 15 guy fall there.

of course it depends but I just see a G, even OT, ILB, OLB, Front D line player all before going WR at that spot/value.

I agree. OLine & front 7 are more important at this point & every point. Good options at WR at 44 and 3rd round.

I agree but you never know how it's going to play out. Beckham and Shazier went earlier than expected and that caused a ripple effect that had us trading up to get Cooks. I could see the same thing happening this year but we may not be able to trade up and in that case a WR may be the best value.

I hope you idiots don't actually think we'd draft a Cooks clone...let alone in the first fricking round.

He likes small fast guys

Cooks is being groomed to be our No. 1 every route type of receiver. We don't have another non-alcoholic a-hole guy on our roster that helps stretch the field for our offense. A guy like Dorsett can help open the field for Cooks as well as run game etc.

I'd really like to get a big physical receiver in this draft and I know I'm not alone.

Yeah, or even a Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, Michael Jordan Babe Ruth type.

a tory holt in the prime would be a solid match for this offense.

Every team wants players like these. They just don't grow on trees unfortunately. The top receivers will be gone by the time we have a chance to get one. And we can just roll with cooks, colston, toon.
