Saints cap situation

Cam Jordan -Can't be cut. 2 more years
Ramczyk- real potential cut is after 24
Peat- same cap number is cut vs don’t now so one more year 24
Kamara-contract is set up for post 24 release, trade, whatever.
Demario Davis - set for one more year
Carr - the OUT on his contract is post 24
Taysom - cost $ to cut until post 24 but really post 25
Tyrann- he gone. Zero dead cap
Don’t think I missed any of the big bloated contracts but as you can see. We got one more year of this. Maybe fire DA maybe not.
What I can see happening is DA stays with hiring a top dollar OC for next season. See what happens but the big blowup not coming till after the 2024 season.
Who are the top QBs for the 2025 draft?

Which is why you trade a 2024 1st and 2025 1st for Jayden Daniels.
Probably still win 8 games next year, then bottom out and fix cap with young QB going into year 2

You are assuming we don’t restructure some of these to get under the cap or sign new FAs. We all know that’s going to happen again.

Jayden Daniels dies behind this offensive line and throws 100 interceptions with this offensive scheme. QB isn’t the silver bullet. Get the best OL or pass rusher available and start drafting replacements for the guys in the OP. Pick a QB in ‘25. There’s always some dream QB every year.

I honestly don’t see how the saints win another game. Diveto, the the rams that seems like Ls to me. After that probably a deflated team vs buccs then nothing to play for against falcons.
Maybe I’m being pessimistic but no way I see another win. Bringing kids this weekend though. We shall see

Considering one of the biggest criticism of him last year was he was too hesitant to make the throws if he didn’t know they were there; I don’t see him being a guy that throws a lot in interceptions early in his career.
His ability to be elusive will also be a weapon for him behind a porous oline. The concern for him will be wether he escapes to make the pass, or does he escape and try to run too much and take some big hits

all of these will be restructured so we are 100% stuck and unable to cut them thru the 26 season
cam has "maybe" one season left at best, yet he will still get signed to a fully guaranteed 5 yr extention

QB is such a crap shoot. I honestly have no idea how he will end up as a pro. He might be Joe Montana or he might be Akili Smith, I have no idea.
But to answer your question, no, I wouldn’t take a QB this year unless a top QB falls to the 2nd round or something. I’d take Fashanu or Alt to shore up the LT position, or take Latu or Verse as a pass rusher. Then next year I’d take a Jalon Daniels or Shakur Sanders or Riley Leonard or Weigman or Allar or whoever the big QB name is next year.
That way my QB has a chance to succeed with good players around him. Basically, not what they are doing with Bryce Young or Justin Fields.
