This Saturday will mark the third-annual Coach Hep Indiana Cancer Challenge.
Other prominent IU sports figures will be attending the challenge, including former IU football players James Hardy, now a wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills, and Tracy Porter, a cornerback for the 2010 Super Bowl-winning New Orleans Saints.
Registration will begin at 6 a.m., and the event will end with an ice-cream social from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The gala will be held Friday night from 6 to 9:30 at the IP Casino Resort and Spa Convention Center in Biloxi. Marques Colston and Pierre Thomas, two members of the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints, will be among the celebrities, and The Tip-Tops band from Mobile will be providing entertainment.
A limited number of $75 tickets are available for the gala. Call Trenchard at 228-217-5791 for more information.

Drew Brees, the superstar quarterback and Super Bowl MVP, is scheduled to appear that day at the Barnes & Noble Booksellers on Airport Boulevard in Pensacola.
Brees will be promoting his upcoming autobiography, "Coming Back Stronger." The book is written as an inspirational story about Brees' life and how he overcame many challenges to now be recognized among the NFL's premier quarterbacks.
The book is scheduled for a July 1 release. Pensacola is one of two scheduled in-store visits by Brees, according to the Barnes & Noble website. The other is in Metairie, La., near the Saints' training camp home. The Saints begin training camp on July 30.

I don't know if this was mentioned already, but I saw a sign outside of Mike's Den in Mandeville saying Jeremy Shockey would be there on Saturday, May 22. I believe the time range was 10:00 - 2:00, but I'm unsure.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees will stop by New Baden in Robertson County Texas on Saturday, May 29 to help raise money for the New Baden Community Center.
The center is the town's former school and is in need of restoration. Brees is coming in support of his grandparents, Ray and Virginia Akins.
The event will start at 11 a.m.and Drew is expected to arrive around 2 p.m. The event will include food, auctions and entertainment.
We caught up with Ray Akins and he is very excited to see his grandson and get a chance to do some good for the local community.
"It means a lot because he spent a lot of time here, he has roots here. That school is where my wife went to school and her father and grandfather started the New Baden Store and ran the school," said Ray Akins.
Brees will not be signing autographs at the event but a raffle is being held that will include signed memorabilia. Tickets for the raffle are just $10 and you can purchase those raffle tickets by calling 979-828-5026.

I heard on the radio that Shockey will be at Prime Time Sports in Baton Rouge on June 6 I believe. Not sure the times and not exactly sure of the date b/c I just happened to catch the end of the advertisement. Maybe someone else will know the exact time
