If we move up to 10 for Hamilton, that would be good value as long as we got a pick back.
What pick are you hoping to get back in this scenario?

The main thing that gives me pause is the Saints excel when drafting BPA. When they go hunting for need, we draft guys like Stephone Anthony

We are good at sniping as the draft goes on, which makes this incredibly early move that much stranger.

As far as it goes in front offices in the nfl. The value of a 1st round pick in next years draft is equal to a second round pick in this years draft.
Not saying it’s right or wrong, I’m just telling you how they value it and it’s universally accepted throughout the league

Perhaps the reason is that Philly doesn't want to draft three first round rookies this year. They traded one of them for our pick next year. If they weren't planning on moving up with them, it makes more sense to have two first round picks in back to back years, plus picking up a second and a third.
I meant that they would have waited for the best offer available nearer the draft. My post was about timing not reason.
It’s extremely rare for a team to do a deal this early unless they have bigger plans and need the time to make it work.
I’m guessing the saints needed the deal done now and may have thrown in a late pick to get it done now, because they are going to do something with the picks and need time.
If not, Philly just waits til the highest bidder comes in closer to the draft.
Go look at when these trades are done. Rarely are they made this early and when they are this early , one of the teams almost always makes another move before the draft

16 and 19 aren't a top 10 prize. Philly wasn't going to get a better deal than they got from us.

quote:Almost seemed a bit petty of the Eagles to make up give up 18 for 19 to ensure they stay in front of us. After as much as we gave up, they kept 15 and 18 and we got 16 and 19. You would think it would have been "cleaner" to just let us remain and 18 and them at 19.

They would wait and find out. People would call them too because the three picks are always gonna get attention.
I may be wrong but I just went by history and I can’t find a trade made this early without another deal coming
