Obviously, every year is different. 3 teams contending for #1 & #2 seeds going into the last week of season is just absurd. In my very limited opinion, I’ll take this 2019 team. I think we’re stronger in just about every area.

Even more, I also like our chances of going on the road in the playoffs and winning (be it in GB or SF or both) vs. our likelihood last year. Like most of the board, GB doesn’t scare me and we look to be about even with SF. But I’m skeptical of winning on the road due to the favorable call either of those teams would get from the referees.

What’s your thoughts?

Also, Happy Holidays and Who dat!!

At their prime during the season or heading into the playoffs?

This year I think they're more ready for the playoffs. Last year Brees was still hurt and our Oline was banged to shite.

This year our Oline is in slightly better shape and Brees actually got a breather and is hitting his stride. Plus we are better equipped to deal with some of these injuries.

But 2018 I think was slightly better with everyone healthy.

Fully healthy im taking 2019. I think Jared cook is a huge addition to the offense, and we’re not throwing to guys like dan Arnold.

And don’t let me forget Deonte Harris, such an upgrade from Tommy Lee Lewis special teams wise and his potential on offense is much higher

That 2018 Team's run of Rams, @Bengals, Eagles games was the best football I've ever seen this team play. They would've hammered anyone, they just got banged up down the stretch. Two totally different teams.

This. Hendrickson>>Okafor. Our DL and Secondary have more depth. I think Davis has played better this year than last year though I think we are missing Anzalone. Offensively, I think we are better even without Ingram because of the additions of Easton, Murray and Cook. And a sneaky aspect we didn’t have last year was Taysom’s ability to catch. He had so many drops last year. Hardly any this year.

Also Harris has made our special teams light years more dangerous. I’d take this Brees as well because he’s fresher, hitting his stride

A bit overstated. Last year he was targeted only 7 times with 3 catches and 2 drops. Too small of a sample size to really say anything.

Even this year he's had a small sample size (but not as small). 21 targets with 18 catches and 1 drop.

The thing that really stands out is where he's catching the ball and what he does after the catch. Last year he caught all short passes (3 catches for 4 yards). This year he has been catching it deeper AND getting plenty of yac. He has more yards after the catch (104) than at the catch point (85). His ypr went from about 1 to about 10.

On the flipside his rushes have gone down as his usage as a receiver has gone up. He has 12 fewer rushes and 6 fewer broken tackles. His ypc before contact is actually double this year, but his ypc after contact is way lower.

His route running has definitely improved which has aided his YAC numbers. Payton is pushing him with more intermediate routes over the shallow routes we saw more of last season. With his improved route running, Brees is able to hit him better stride & the man is simply too hard for a CB to bring down one on one.

Hill has been more and more impressive as the season goes as a receiver
