Happy New Year Who Dats & Who Datettes and welcome to the Week 17/Game 16 Thread

I don't know how it's happened, but the Saints playoff hopes still remain alive on the morning of the 1st day of 2023. But in order to even give them a chance of staying alive into the final week of the season, the Saints must beat perhaps the best team in the NFL on the road while that team is still trying to lock down a division title, the #1 seed in the NFC, and the playoff bye week and homefield advantage that comes with it... even if it's without their starting quarterback. And will Dalton be able to keep the ball away from the hands of Ceedy Deuce?

Can the Saints somehow defy all the odds yet again and pull out a near impossible road win, hurt the 1st round draft pick position we traded to Philadelphia, and keep hope alive for 1 last week?

LET'S CRUSH MINSHEW-MANIA AND KEEP THINGS ALIVE INTO WEEK 18!!

Injury Report:
NO-
Marcus Maye - Shoulder - OUT
Andrus Peat - Ankle - OUT
Dwayne Washington - Illness - OUT
Justin Evans - Shoulder - QUESTIONABLE
Marshon Lattimore - Abdomen - QUESTIONABLE
Chris Olave - Hamstring - QUESTIONABLE
Pete Warner - Hamstring - QUESTIONABLE
Chase Hansen - Knee - QUESTIONABLE

PHI-
Avonte Maddox - Toe - OUT
Lane Johnson - Groin - OUT
Jalen Hurts - Right Shoulder - DOUBTFUL

Weather: It should be a fairly nice day for football in Philadelphia... and a far cry from last week's game in a freezer in Cleveland. Temperatures in the mid-to-low 50s with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies and winds out of the west to west-northwest at 5-10 mph

Uniforms: The icy whites worked on Christmas Eve in Cleveland, let's try them again on New Years Day in Philadelphia

Current Standings:
NFC South:
Buccaneers 7-8
Panthers 6-9
Saints 6-9
Falcons 5-10

NFC East:
Eagles 13-2
Cowboys 12-4
Giants 8-6-1
Commanders 7-7-1

Betting Lines: Eagles (-5.5), O/U 41.5

“A big development for the #Saints: Pro Bowl CB Marshon Lattimore, who hasn’t played since Oct. 9 because of an abdomen injury, is expected to play today, source said. WR Chris Olave (hamstring) is also expected to go.”

The assignment of incompetent Jerome is the final nail in this season.

Remember, Boger once called a penalty on the “Seattle Mariners”.

So it will be a 4 hour game with about 16 penalties. Yay!

was Jarvis Landry ever put on IR?

I know he was expected to go on it but I don't see he ever actually did

not to mention line judge Rusty Baynes... who was on THAT "all star" crew in the NFC Championship vs. the Rams... is on Boger's crew this year

(Baynes was on the other side of the field and not involved in the missed DPI penalty against TLL)

There goes my breakfast. The only hope is that for Dallas Philadelphia competitive reasons, the NFL needs the Saints to win. Otherwise, this ref makes all NFL games painful to watch.
