Harper as the third safety behing Bell and Vaccaro would be okay with me.

I would not be against it if he were to only be used in special run defense situations.

Use him as a decoy on safety blitzes since that is all he's really good for, then bring someone else in on the other side. BOOM!!!

Wouldn't mind as a vet backup. Wondering how slow he might be now tho? Carolina showed zero interest in keeping in such a role there.

for leadership and a veteran Backup - I have 0 issue with it.

When the crew of Harper, Sproles, Jenkins, etc. etc. were let go, a lot of leadership was lost as well.

He's a good safety to have on obvious run downs. That's about it. Worth a vet min deal.

If I was an opposing coach, I'd pass on an obvious run down when Harper was in the game.

Ditto. Harper was a good safety unless he was asked to cover a tight end in a road playoff game.

Or asked to outrun a slower than slow QB on a fumble return.

I will always be a fan of Harper as a person......BUT Harris is in the mix at safety as well. Harris is a sure tackler, very solid in coverage, has good ball skills, is younger than Harper, and he is faster than Harper.
