John Bel Edwards he understood the governor’s “personal disappointment” over the NFC Championship Game and that the NFL plans to review its rules and procedures closely to see if there was a way of preventing an alleged blown call from possibly determining the outcome of such an important game in the future."

Goodell should be embarrassed by this response. Seriously embarrassed. Doesn't he have any handlers with more sense? The excuse for not responding sooner is laughable.

Alleged?
If I'm the Rams cornerback, I'm appealing that fine and filing a grievance with the NFLPA tomorrow, with that quote in highlights. You take a quarter million away from me, and then you don't acknowledge definitively that I committed a penalty? Don't think so.
There's got to be enough anti-Goodell sentiment around the league that someone, somewhere, can hang him on that.

There is no interest in preventing an "alleged" blown call. We expect an actual blatant blown call to be prevented.

JBE should publicly fire back another letter demanding accountability from the refs who blatantly and intentionally did not make the proper call. He should call for their termination and an acknowledgment thereof by RG himself.
