Revisiting Reggie Bush

In case you've been living under a rock, Reggie has run for 1,000+ yards this season and I for one, am not surprised.
I always knew he could do this, it was just in our offense Payton wouldn't use him as such. It's no surprise that Payton loves the running back by committee approach and it does work very well for us. But I just wanted to point out, for all of us who always believed in Reggie and thought he wasn't a "bust" that this is awesome. I'm glad he finally got his chance to prove himself.
And as far as the injuries go, the only reason he got injured so often for the Saints is because he wasn't seeing as much action as he should have been. If your body isn't used to getting a full load, then when you do, it will crumble. Now that he's in Miami he has pretty much had the full load most of the season and has proven very successful.
Impressive stat: Of all running backs this season with 200+ carries, no one is averaging more yards per carry than Reggie (5.0)
Good for Reggie, and as long as he's not in our Division, or Conference for that matter... I will ALWAYS be a fan of this guy.
Good read about his season here

Maybe so
But I get what he's saying. I'm really happy for Reggie. Will always pull for him unless he's playing us.

You sound like scorned woman. Of course we're all thrilled to have DS and wouldn't trade him to have Reggie back if we could. But there's nothing wrong with being happy for the guy. He did have a part in us getting that title!

I've said it before in other threads, I'm happy for Reggie. He's a class act and treated the organization well. I wish the best for him (except on gameday if the saints play the dolphons).

I'm happy for him too, but this is really not the right board for this anymore. This is a poorly disguised "I told you so" thread.

I still think Reggie Bush is a bust.

Scorned woman....
More like a fan that kept waiting for Reggie to show up and he never did....all he had to do was what Sproles is doing now....and Sproles is making a fraction of what he did.
I honestly forgot about him until you guys brought him back up. Still clinching that #25 jersey I see.

It's not exactly accurate to say things didn't work out for him here as the team was wildly successful with him doing his thing, he was really famous and had a lot of endorsements and got a ton of recognition for his contributions to the '06 and '09 dream seasons. Glad he's doing well.

I'm proud of Reggie. I like seeing him do well.
I thought I read (or heard from an unreliable source) that his legs are responding better to the natural turf. better for planting and making hard cuts or something.

playing on real grass probably helped out a lot to with his health.

Bush was never a bust. Firstly, short of Barry Sanders, no one was coming into the league and living up to the hype the media gave him. Secondly, the system we play here in Nola doesn't it lend itself to running back stardom and Adrian Peterson type success. We run 3-4 backs CONSISTENTLY. No way any back coming out of college (or free agency for that matter) is going to have stellar 1000+ yard seasons for us here in Nola.
Miami is letting him run loose and do his thing, and it's working. His performance for the Dolphins is not surprising in the least.
A disappointment considering all the hype he got? Maybe. A Bust? Not even close.

Didn't he hurt himself on natural grass in Chicago, San fran, and seattle?

But, here's how I define somebody who is a disappointment considering all of the hype that he got . . . in my world, that's a BUST.
My world is cruel.

Wish him well, but honestly could fricking care less if he breaks 2,000 yds rushing. Don't won't him back--especially with the addition of Sproles. Fwiw--Sproles fills in the same role and he hasn't gotten hurt yet. Guess that blows your "full load" theory to shite.

His team has won 3 games! He hasn't helped at all. htey had a back last year with just as good stats.
It's like when he led the league in catches with us, it didn't equate to success.
It's a 16 game season, getting over 100 yds isn't to hard to do for a team that can't hardly throw a screen much less down the field.
Get this straight, Reggie was treated like gold in New Orleans! He thought he deserved all kinds of cash for being the #rd down guy. HE CHOSE TO LEAVE and play for a loser fro a little more money.
I always enjoy when those guys end up with more money BUT are sitting at home for the playoffs. I'm old fashioned, so what, IDGAF about people who want more $$$ for less wins.

Lol I don't own a jersey but if I did it'd be a #9.
And I see what you're saying dude really. We're all realy happy we're getting twice the production for half the cost from Darren. But it dosen't hurt to happy for someone. And Reggie may not have ever became what you thought he should have, but it wasn't for lack of effort. The guys always tried hard. Too hard sometimes.
