I have a feeling this is going to lead to more problems than it’s worth. Some of these calls are so subjective. Nobody needed replay to see the PI the entire country saw.

What we need is:
Refs that don’t have an agenda
Refs that aren’t from the hometown of the opposing team
A commissioner that doesn’t play favorites

If those things don’t change, next time they will just use a review to screw us over

They will add the rule.

Such rule will screw Saints in the future.

The rule, however, does nothing about Sunday.

The only way to clean up the game is to take every penny out of it. Anything less than that won't do a thing.

Maybe. Or maybe having a commissioner who is dedicated to fair treatment of all markets.

But then again maybe the owners really don’t care about that. Don’t they just split up all profits evenly? If larger markets winning means more money for smaller market owners... do they really care at the end of the day?

Just a thought

Impossible. Imagine it not being there and keeping the rightful team from participating in the superbowl.

Imagine that scenario.

I can so see this happening. Between LSU and the Saints, I think watching football is becoming hazardous to my health

yes there might be a few marginal calls hard to decide but you have that with fumbles as well and then you let the call on the field stand

what it will do is stop the fake PI calls to help a team get an unfair advantage

holding needs to be clarified as actually hooking of the arm or choke hold or dragging to the ground or its not holding

Again, reference the issue of money.

It's a waste of time and money more than anything else. The games take forever to end. There's only about 15 minutes of actual play for each game. The rest of the time is spent in commercials, huddles, penalty conferences (which are a joke because they still haven't figured out how to consistently apply their own rules).

The best way to watch a football game is to record it on DVR and fast forward through all of the interruptions and commercials. That's how I do it.

What about review be controlled by a neutral 3rd party with the power to review any play where there is a blatantly bad call? No coach challenge for anything than what they can now. The 3rd party also review scores, TOs, and coach challenges

If the league actually cared for player safety (Non QBs), then they would make any and all helmet to helmet hits reviewed. College has the right idea but the wrong execution. Kids shouldn't be kicked out of games for inadvertent helmet to helmet.

I think they should treat PI the way the NBA treats fouls. A regular shooting foul gives the other team two shots. A flagrant foul gives them two shots and the ball.

I like the idea of Pass Interference 1 - which is a 10 yard penalty and a first down... and Pass Interference 2 (flagrant basically) which gives the offense the ball at the spot of the foul or 15 yards (whichever is larger).

You just can't give a team 35 free yards on a ticky-tack call.
