I think the biggest issue is everyone is trying to give a knee jerk reaction to this game and somewhat how he played in the preseason.

I think the biggest issues plaguing this guy is confidence and an inability to make hood reads at the line prior to the snap. Bree’s and Peyton Manning are the kings of reading a defense before the snap and thus made their OL that much better.

Without that skill, Bridgewater is going to have more pressure on him and that is where it will be made worse by his lack of confidence in his reads and just slinging it. He overthinks things since his injury but has a great arm when he is decisive.

This is why I don’t think he will fit the Saints’ offense moving forward. I think he will do better with first team reps and game planning around his strengths but this team will not make the playoffs with him at the helm.

Yes. Same line, same receivers, different team. Brees wins the play before the snap and throws players open. Teddy waits for something to develop and then it is too late. NFL is too fast for TB.

This is a good take, but we should give Teddy a few more weeks when we game plan the offense with him at the helm.

Real discussion could be about would any QB have won today with the drops, TO's and unending penalties?

He’s holding the ball too long. He’s either not seeing things early enough, or no one’s open. Hill would see more zone because of threat of him gashing them in the run. I’m not sure if the play calling did Teddy any favors.

Not saying otherwise, but historically he has not been a cerebral QB. He’s been a thrower that was accurate. This has nothing to do with his race either. Warren Moon was the epitome of a cerebral QB as is Wilson over in Seattle.

Time will tell and he seem likely to be getting his shot. I just am not very optimistic.

Brooks was better than Bridgewater. Brooks didn't have much in the way of offensive talent around him and had Jim Haslett for a head coach.

I agree.

At the very least he's a serviceable backup while Brees is out. Given the fact that Sean seems to think he's the future, I think Teddy deserves a few starts before the deal is sealed.

That is a knee jerk reaction and we all know it.

From everything we've seen Taysom really can't pass the ball very accurately.

We saw who moved the ball during preseason! Please someone say it’s preseason. You either have command of the offense or you don’t! You create momentum and tempo through first downs and Hill did that. You have it hat it factor or you don’t. Clearly Teddy has lost his confidence. He can’t even throw into a receivers numbers who is sitting down in coverage.

I mean... do you really have that much to lose starting Hill over Bridgewater next week?

Should have given both guys an opportunity to audition in a game we clearly weren’t going to be allowed to win.

Taysom brings energy, moves the chains, is it a good passer when given some opportunities. We have nuffin to lose.

Bottom line is that the players wont play for Teddy. They're not dumb. They realize he gives them no shot at winning.

If you want to rally the troops and inject some "juice", it has to be Taysom.
