Well then we agree the pic was not a waste because he will start a game/s.

I’m not sure it matters. They will likely both be given a chance to start a few games this year. If they don’t both get a chance then that means whichever one started the year played well and we have our QB of the future figured out.

BS. You looking at it all wrong. It’s a top 40 pick we blew, on a roster that many experts are saying is the worse in the league.

At worse we could have picked Mason Taylor and had a dependable ten year starter at te.

Been saying this during the draft, and kept getting hammered, now Shough isn’t looking so hot and now it’s no big deal….

I said it would take at least till next year to see what we have. So we bottom out this year and not pick a qb high?

Oh frick off you didn’t even read my post.

I don’t like Shough as a prospect and never liked the pick. I also don’t like rattler that much as more than a backup.

But read my post again. If rattler is a good nfl qb then it doesn’t matter if you flushed a pick on Shough. This isn’t even debatable.

I’ll say it again since you seem to be kind of slow. IF rattler works out then we’ve achieved the hardest personnel move in the sport.

Teams miss every single year on multitudes of picks. The important thing is getting a qb and if you get one between a 5th and a 2nd then you’re WAY ahead of the curve long term.

32/32 teams would spend a 5 and a 2 to get their next long term QB.

Shough will not start at QB…. He Needs time to develop and that’s NORMAL to need time to develop !!

Problem is….he was drafted because Saints THOUGHT with 6 years of college experience.. Shough would be more ADVANCED than what he is now currently showing !!!

I know camp is just starting but everyone seem to think… from they’ve seen of Shough so far.. he’s NOT more advanced !!

Saints Took a gamble and lost.
Not happy about this…but it is ..what it is !

Therefore, if Saints really really struggle at QB this coming year… they MAY have no choice but to draft a QB if they are picking in the Top 5 per 2026 Draft.

If that happens…. I Hope we find a franchise QB … but the 2nd Rd pick on Shough was a Waste as they could have drafted a Quality TE, WR or other position with pick #40.

How much better would most of us feel if we had a Promising Rookie at TE, WR or even CB we could add to the mix.. via that 40th round pick they used on Shough.

It will play itself out.

Just a total disaster to waste 2 of our last 3 2nds on Shough and Foskey.

I did read your post. I just disagree with what you said. Anytime you blow a top 40 pick is a big deal so I feel you are wrong. I don’t care what the end game was finding your qb, you still lost out on some first round talent that dropped on an already talent deficient roster. So yes it’s a big freaking deal.

I’m just hoping of rattler or shough develops into a franchise quarterback by year’s end. For example, Bryce young started looking really good at the end of the year last season. If we can get that going forward, I’ll be a happy camper.

Also, this team is severely lacking talent at multiple positions mainly due to horrible contracts. So I’m not expecting a Super Bowl run this year and neither should you.

If Rattler starts game 1 and wins against Arizona it's his job to lose.

Shough can throw. That pass he threw yesterday was ridiculous. If the game slows down enough for him in preseason he'll win it.

Still too early to tell.

Dennis Allen isn't here. It's an automatic plus. No way Moore is worse.

I confidently feel Rattler is our guy. The OL will be the hinge as to how any of our QB's play.

Yep…..

It’s Rattler to start unless there is some type of injury to prevent it from happening.

It’s his job but he threw another bad pick today. He’s the best QB on the worst QB room in the NFL.

It’s obvious early we are in big trouble this year.

Not what I'm hearing. All the reports from camp I'm getting are saying Shough looks great, better even than expected. Has all the physical tools, arm angles, and accuracy we could ask for. Also breaking some athletic TD runs that Rattler couldn't dream of. Appears to be a slam dunk that he will be a star in the NFL.
