With so many variables involving 32 NFL teams and an unplayed college football season, it’s almost impossible to project what any NFL team will do with any hypothetical first round pick in 2026.

Since you are playing fan fiction with LSU and the Saints simultaneously, perhaps a more broader fantasy board or future betting scenario will pay dividends for you.

Why are we convinced Nussmeir is a top pick again?

I'm no Nuss-stan, but he's better than Cam Ward and certainly better than Shough.

He can be alarmingly bad at times.

This applies to Cam Ward, too, and he went #1

He goes to LSU. The current regime would never draft him.

At times Nuss looked great … how about the Georgia game ? Now … other games … he could pick up quality yardage with his legs , but didn’t do it . Also , simple throws and throwing on the run … not good , Larry !

He simply refuses to take wide open chunks of yardage in front of him with his feet in tight games.

Biggest hole in his game.

He’ll sit back and tryo to pick apart coverage and roll around looking for shots.

He is actually a good scrambler too, but he scrambles to throw only and gets into bad spots.

1st year starting. Burrow and Jd had less than 18 TDS not to keep comparing but he deserves a chance to learn also.

It could be Nuss. Could be Drew Allar, but I think Allar would have to improve a lot more than Nuss in order for me to feel comfortable taking him with a top 3 pick.

Nuss will likely take the next step. He could also flounder and be more or less the same like Ewers. Felt like people were waiting forever for Ewers to improve and he just never did. But since there's a history of 2nd year QBs at LSU now taking a leap, that will be expected of Nuss.

And he probably will. So yeah, be prepared to see a lot of mocks for us to take Nuss.

Because he was a good QB as a first year starter.

That helps, yes.
