I think Kihaha will be able to get a few more on his own, but everything else looks good. I certainly hope we can get this production and maybe a few more from LBs, DB blitzes, etc.

Jordan 13
Fairley 6
Rankins 7
Davison 1
Onyemata 3
Kikaha 6
Okafor 5
Hendrickson 2

Plus another 7 from DBs and LBs.

Between 45-50?

Seems high but I don't know where I might be overshooting. I know Kik and Oak are a huge upgrade over Kruger.

I guess this doesn't account for injuries so we may lose some there.

So you think Jordan has .5 more and Fairley and Rankins have less?

It can happen. Go look at every rushers stats year to year. It can swing wildly.

And that would be a push for Rankins, but he only played half the season.

1 sack each sounds about right, "maybe" 2 or 3 guys sneak in an extra sack or half sack in garbage time.

saints defense ends up below 30 again and saints have top 3 offense but still cant win more then 7-8 games while scoring 30 points a game because the defense is giving up 35 points a game.

lattimore goes out with hammy in first or second game (maybe even preseason) and misses most of the season, the rest of the picks are solid contributors but not good enough to make any highlight reels.

payton and loomis spend the first half of season explaining they didn't pick players to give them a decent pass rush because its wrong to pick players to try to draft to help your team address desperate needs, because its all about BPA, even if you aren't improving your DESPERATE AREAS OF NEED and because that's what the experts say.

meanwhile we still suck on defense and drew brees runs out of new Orleans as fast as he can load up his wife and kids to go to a team that is actually trying to compete for a super bowl.

yes the players we picked at those spots were BPA and graded higher then the players we NEEDED that were there on the board for us and could help us win now. BPA is a BS rule that makes 7-9 teams stay as 7-9 teams while adding "stars" to their rosters.

Again? When's the last time we had under 30 sacks?

How do we hurt our pass rushing ability this offseason?

What need did we not address?

Just to answer the question, 2008 was the last time with 28. We hover around 30-38 every other year but one (don't think we had more or less) dating to 06.

The one exception was 2013 with 49. That was our anamoly year.

Our SB year we had 35.

Turnovers has been our most important stat. Sacks haven't really affected success one way or another outside of 2013. We've had bad and good years within the 30-38 sack range.

hard to sack a QB if he is handing it to the running back

teams with double digit leads on us wont need to throw it so yes very few sacks
