Defense is the problem. Pretty sure they only forced one punt. Brees throws the balk like 5 yards but heck, it’s good enough to win the game. He doesn’t make bad plays. And that’s what keeps him the starter. It’s frustrating to see all the dink and dunks but we had a chance to win. So don’t blame Drew.

Also CSP coached like an Idiot tonight.

Fourth quarter we forced a punt and took the ball over on downs, but the O couldn’t move the ball in a tied game. It’s not just D.

We forced 1 punt in our opponents last 17 drives and have 18 penalties for 212 yards on defense

I was discussing yesterday’s game and how we lost the fourth quarter. The D forced a punt and stopped GB on downs. After each of those possessions we did nothing on O. We went three and out once and turned it over the other time. Drew was 4-4 for a total of 12 yards in those two possessions.

The O failing to do anything killed us. We had two chances to score points with the game tied in the fourth quarter. One chance was with all the momentum after a huge fourth down stop at midfield.

I’m not excusing the penalties. We’ve been undisciplined in that department for awhile. Our DBs get beat a lot and they grab. We make a lot of dumb mistakes too.

I can't figure out what the issue is either, you have practically the same core with solid additions and it looks like a Payton D of old.

Do we just have your typical Dennis Allen slow start or are there larger issues this time?

Davenport needs to get off his tissue paper soft arse and play. I've defended the guy against his detractors but its getting tougher and tougher with his inability to stay on the field.

I see now why we nearly sold our soul to land Clowney

Hendrickson is the only one getting consistent pressure. A pass rush will solve a lot of issues on defense

The short passing game can still be successful though

How successful? Unless the defense becomes the '85 Bears we definitely can not win a championship with this passing game. And right not the defense is the opposite of the '85 Bears.

Most head coaches when they have game managers at QB, tend to look stupid at times because the margin for error of all facets of the game become smaller. So everything gets analyzed even more from a coaching standpoint.

SP lost the game when he put his shinny toy in and he fumbled the damn ball. When you are moving the team down the field why in the hell do try gimmicky bullshite that has been shown on film over and over. It's borderline retarded for someone who is supposed to be a play calling savant.

It's not the main problem but it is a problem. You have to be able to stretch the field a few times a game to at least keep the other team's defense off balance. It's too easy for them if they know all that's coming is dink and dunk throws. It probably won't happen but I would love to see Winston get a shot to run the offense.
