People blaming Brees and his limitations.

Defense is the problem. Pretty sure they only forced one punt. Brees throws the balk like 5 yards but heck, it’s good enough to win the game. He doesn’t make bad plays. And that’s what keeps him the starter. It’s frustrating to see all the dink and dunks but we had a chance to win. So don’t blame Drew.

Also CSP coached like an Idiot tonight.

Yep, I just don’t get the hate and ignorance of some on this board about Brees arm. Drew played good enough to possibly put us 3-0.
Defense cost us. It’s simple. It’s all about winning games.

Reasons we lost:

Defense
Taysom Hill fumble
CSP’s play calling

He no longer makes big plays either which is a necessity against a team like Green Bay.

With how our secondary is playing, we need a play maker at QB & not a dink & dunk game manager.

There's always multiple reasons for any loss but Drew is one of the reasons for the loss last week & again tonight.

Most head coaches when they have game managers at QB, tend to look stupid at times because the margin for error of all facets of the game become smaller. So everything gets analyzed even more from a coaching standpoint.

Just because it was not THE problem tonight doesnt mean it isnt a problem.

Its abundantly clear Kamara and to a lesser degree Sanders bailed us out alot.

Saints have so many issues it really does not makes sense to cherry pick just one

There is no hate Tigerbait. Drew's limitations are obvious, and he might need to step aside at some point. If we didn't get an unbelievable performance from Kamara, the offense would have been a joke.

You are delusional if you think Brees' limitations are not an issue. He may touch excellence occasionally, but it will be fleeting.

Unless Drew visits the Fountain of Youth, our offense will be 2-5 yard throws into the flat. Imagine what will happen if Kamara misses any time.

Defense is the problem but we were facing Rodgers so you know he is going to put up points. We also haven’t even faced one of the better defenses in the league yet. Nor will we be able to score with the top offenses to win games. This was a Super Bowl are bust season and we just don’t have what the other top teams do. We are an average team this year. I love Drew but he should have retired after last year. We had an open Deontae Harris for a Td in the game at one point and Brees didn’t even try him bc he knows he can’t make the throw.

Also Lattimore has been atrocious in 3 of his last 4 games

I agree. Brees arm is trash now but he's doing more than enough on offense to get the job done. Defense has fallen off a cliff.

Offense is averaging around 30pts/gm and defense is giving up around the same.

This. It’s a huge problem. You’re basically asking the offense to continuously operate at a high level for 8+ plays time and time again. There are very few easy scores and chunk gains unless Kamara is looking like a video game. You can’t realistically expect that to happen multiple times a game over 16 games. To compete at a high level you need to be able to hit a 30-40 yard pass a few times a game and take advantage of when your other players have beaten their men down the field.

I’ve said it since week one. Everything is going to be a struggle when a decent defense isn’t afraid of you going over them. NFL players are simply too athletic. Once you get against playoff caliber defenses, look out.

The short passing game can still be successful though. Without Michael Thomas just sucking up all the attention, I’ve noticed very few good matchups. No Deonte Harris on a LB or Jared Cook on an undersized CB, etc.

When Mike comes back, I think we’ll see a big shift. We still need to forcibly attempt some longer throws though.

I totally agree with you the qb have to be able throw over top to stretch out the defense that way give your playmaker more room to make plays if defense don’t respect you going deep they just gone seat on short routes

It can. But I think there’s a very real ceiling on just how good a team/how far you can go with it. Even with Thomas there are very few guys who can really hurt a team with the ball in their hands. Sanders is in his 30s, Cook is in his 30s, Deontae has his physical limitations.

It all comes down to Kamara taking a massive workload in the passing game.

It’s going to be hard as hell to beat anyone of note in the really important games.

Fourth Quarter determined the outcome yesterday.
The score was tied going into the fourth quarter. We failed to make a first down in our first possession even though Brees was 3-3. Wd only made five yards.
On our second possession we gained 7 yards and fumbled in the next play.

The last possession we were down 10 by then and GB played soft giving us a late FG.

We lost the game in the fourth quarter. The O failed to produce. The D couldn’t hold and it’s ballgame.
