Wouldn’t be surprised if Hurst starts over him to start the year and penning works as the swing guy

A first round pick being good is crucial to a team’s success? No way

If penning is what we hope he is and develops quickly, its hard to complain about the pick and further the compensation given up.

But if he's not up to the status of what we think he is, it could be catastrophic failure. Giving up next year's picks etc and other talents passed on....

If Penning becomes a good player then it was a good pick. Thanks for the insight. Pretty riveting stuff.

Also a failed LT can sometimes become a successful guard or RT.

Actually the first thing you've posted that I agree with

I always go back to the draft of Qadry Ismail. When Dennis Green was asked why he drafted a guy who was noted as having hands of stone he replied "I can teach a guy to catch, I can't teach him to run that fast".

Physical; attribute can be honed to a degree but they cannot be taught. Certain things you either have or you don't.

Our franchise isn’t dependent on Payton Turner at the moment. It’s a different situation due to drafting at need.
