Payton has established the saints as winners. New Orleans is a premier job as long as we have Bree

Dallas:

-Bigger Market
-Jerry Jones could outbid Benson any day of the week with his eyes closed
-Dallas has the new luxurious stadium
-Closer to his family
-Payton already had ties coaching that team, could have feelings for wanting to coach them
-Coaching dallas is one of them throw back premier teams in the country, saints are not equal to that.
-Drew would be a lost connection, but as of now, drew only has 1 year left on his deal, it could be that drew has to be franchised season after next (payton's last year)... who the hell knows.

Do you honestly think Payton would want to be micromanaged by a megalomaniac like Jerry Jones?

Bill Parcells, Jimmy Johnson... Jerry Jones would conceed to Payton if that's what it took to get him.

Bad examples. He ran both of them out of town bc he couldn't control them.

They were still hired and employed there. I'm not saying Jones could not eventually run Payton out of there, but Jones is smart enough to do everything to get payton there. Payton and Jerry have already worked together, have a fairly good relationship already... its not unimaginable, especially given jerry's desperation if Virgin face over there is a failure.

He didn't work with him as a head coach. He was working under the head coach. And look at Jerrys more recent hires. He's learned his lesson it seems and the world of football is on to his methods.

I'm not saying it's impossible. I'm just saying it doesn't fit.

One was a failure. That doesn't mean this one will be and that also doesn't mean he will go back to hiring type a's if it does.

I am more surprised that he bought a house this far away from Drew Brees, than the Saints. Sean is not going anywhere as long as Drew is here.

My point is there nothing to suggest anything you are worried about is true. You're basically freaking out over nothing but your own speculation.

When Garret is fired and we start hearing Paytons name on a list if candidates then I'll be worried. When Payton turns down an extension then I'll be worried. But when he buys a house in another city, BFD.

That's like my wife worrying I'm going to kill her because I bought another gun. It makes no sense.

LSU Dad - give me some examples in NFL football (other than Tony Dungy).

I can go into a bunch, not just NFL.
This coach was in the Canadian Pro Football League, his family was in Tx. and he was in Canada......

LINK

He also payed is buyout to move back down South. Hes the OL coach at Rice.

In 2003, Ned Yost was named the manager of the Milwaukee Brewers. He had a house in Ga. (Around $1M, home), he left his children and moved to take the job. He also has a large farm next to his best friend a guy you may know of, Jeff Foxworth (Yea, Ned may be a Redneck).

Lets get closer to LSU, you remember Phil Bennett, the DC for a time at LSU. He was up in Pitt with Dave Wannstedt, his family and home was in Tx. He passed up a few jobs (Both Pro and College, oh, to add, he had a Jimbo offer, HCIW) to get back to Tx. Hes the DC at Baylor now.

Jimbo had offers to move many times while at LSU, but he too also passed. It has to be the right fix. An with many, its not about the money. Thats why they hire ARM (Jimmy).

Many don't know about the offers that coaches get. Many times its better for a team to interview and hire someone else (At least that the word that goes out).

A good coach doesn't just take a job, he checks with others, does his homework.

Remember this, last year UM paid the Asst. staff $1M less than what the staff at LSU made. Was Les gonna have his staff take a cut in pay? Many schools give you X number of $'s, how you put together a staff is your choice. That why you see many GA move up into a position coaching job.

Not knowing Payton like I know others, I won't give out info on his move.

Knowing some coaches, their wives and families, I will only talk about the ones I know. The better coaches take the family first. I had a friend take a job in the SEC only to have his wife say after 1 month, "We gotta move!" His reply, "We've only been here 1 month!" At that she said, "A month is too long here."

They did last only one year, he moved to another SEC school the next year.

The wife and kids learn fast, I think it makes them. You wonder after the kids see the fathers getting fired, why would they want to go into that profession. Phil Bennetts son has been up at Tx. Tech. and staying with football. Another friend of mines son is up at Tx. State, he too is going into coaching.

I know, this is a little long winded...I got more, but this will do.

I guess a flight from NO to DFW is easy compared to what Ronnie and Phill had to do?

Bill Parcells, Jimmy Johnson...

didn't they both leave because of Jerry's micromanaging a helluva lot sooner than Cowher left Pitt?

What in the larry frick is it with La sports fans, always speculating their coach will geaux somewhere esle. Miles, to Michigan, Payton to the Cowboys, Saban to the NFL, Bertman to Miami,DiNardo to Notre Dame

People get sandy vaginas that Payton's family leaving is a slap in the face. Get a life, so they like Dallas better, they are not from La for frick sake!

The uncertainty of the future at this is factual. I'm not acknowledging any truth but just acknowledging possibilities.

Sounds more like you're acting like the sky is falling due to possibilities, and slim ones at that.

the cowboys conspiracy theory's on this board crack me up every year. saints section hates the cowboys. if peyton would have moved anywere else it would'nt be a story. maybe his wife would like to live somewhere with a great education system a nice home and not be stalked by crazy saints fans.
