Kinda like during the season last year we all assumed Jameis.

It was never going to be Jameis last season being that Jameis had no training camp or preseason to put any work in, gain timing with the receivers or get any on field action in executing the plays from the playbook.

A lot of fans are forgetting that there was no training camp & preseason last year because of covid. Payton had no choice but to go with Taysom last season due to Taysom having prior training camp, preseason & regular season action in the offensive system already under his belt. That decision provided the best opportunity for the team to win with Brees out.

Even when Jameis entered the game to replace an injured Brees against the 49ers, Payton called basic plays & didn't allow Jameis the option to audible at the line of scrimmage due to Winston's lack of experience in the system.

I like a guy who can scramble with our current lack of separation receivers.

Jameis having to hold the ball is a terrifying thought.

Taysom as a starter scares me more then Jameis. Taysom is going to have like 3-4 huge strips/sacks each game. I thought he would be like Mike Vick back there, but his pocket presence is horrendous. Couple that with him trying to be a pocket passer and he isn't trusting his gut and running for yardage.

It’s Winston without a blink of the eye. Dude played in 80 games and is just the better QB. If it wasn’t for Payton’s giant arse ego Taysom would be playing his Jack of all trades roll which he is great at.
He is so good in that roll he is a millionaire now. What a huge mistake Payton made here. We need Taysom back where he belongs.

Winston gives the saints playoff and beyond aspirations ... Hill can still keep his role as last season ... I just don't want some offense that is boring and struggles to score points ... Which could happen with hill

There's no one alive that watches and know football who really thinks Taysom is gonna be the starting QB

He knew his starter before the first snap. He baited Hill to keep him from seeking a trade. Now he can keep his toy around. This will be Hill's last year as a Saint.
