They are, but that QB was Gus. He is light years better than TJ. Sage had a couple of good games w/ the Texans, but they will struggle.

I think if I was a diehad vikes fan I'd have hated the favor era and would be pumped about trying to do it "in house" without favre.

Tarvaris Jackson has 3,600 yards passing in 33 games for the Vikings.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Why be mad at Favre and not the organization? They are the ones letting Brett sting them along. They should have gotten a QB anyway. It's not like Favre would have played past this season anyway.

true, but "pretty good" doesn't get it done in the playoffs. They need a Favre or McNabb to stretch the field.

10 games gus, 6 games Jackson, it wasn't all Gus. In fact Jackson went 3-1 the last 4 games of the season in order to secure that spot.

As bad as Jackson is, Gus isn't to much better. In 08 he threw 12 TD's and 15 INT's. His passer rating was like 70. For comparison sakes that is worse than Jamarcus Russel that year

They can but it'll be harder this year. They play the NFC and AFC East this year. The Saints went 7-1 against those divisions last year but it'll be much harder for the Vikings to do that because teams in both divisions will be better. Also without Farve I think the Packers are a better team. Not to mention the Bears improved and the lowly Lions had a pretty good draft. Farve made his receivers look better. Rice had a great year last season but was a non factor the two previous seasons. I really think they'll be lucky to make the playoffs without Farve. If you take Brees off the Saints how confident would you be that they can win? I think its the same with the Vikings and Farve.

With Favre retired, the Viqueens will suddenly become a run-first team. And we know what that means -- more AP fumbles.

I mean sure they would be better with Farve or Mcnabb, but the idea that they need a HOF QB to win, with that team I don't buy.

I get the argument that they need a better QB than Jackson or Sage, but if Mark Sanchez can take a team to the conference championship game...

This team's o-line, running game, and defense is good enough to carry a bad QB much like the Jets carried Sanchez

If the Vikings aren't a good enough team to beat the Lions without Farve, then they weren't a good enough team to make it to the Super Bowl with him.

I honestly doubt the Vikings make the playofs which sux b/c my wife is a huge fan & if the Saints can't win it all I'd love for them to. Also, She hates Farve more than Bin Laden & I really wanted him to lead her beloved team to their first SB win (not last year though).

what about Benson have Favre as a guest in his box Game 1

Brettski fist pumping a Saints score in the Benson box would be poetic.

That's just wrong.

It'll be hard

The saints, falcons, cowboys, and packers are all clearly better, cardinals, giants, eagles, and bears will all be equally as good

IMO

It's the playoffs, always hard.

How many NFL seasons in the last 10 years have you seen not one of the preseason favorites dissapoint and have a losing record?

disagree, I think team wise Vikings are a better team than all of those. All 4 of those teams have QB's that are just as likely to cost their teams games as Jackson is to cost Vikings games

the sidney rice breakthrough year last year will fall by the wayside.

jackson/gus will not make rice or harvin perform near as well as Favre.

Saints lost to the Bucs with Brees last year.
