Even if LM has "equally bad hands" as Welker (I use this term jokingly, of course), why would we want a more expensive, older version of the same WR?

I wish there would only be "Should we?" type threads only if the OP can make a case (even if weak) in why we should and how we could?

I can't think of any scenario where our cap strapped team would be going after a 32yer old high dollar WR who plays a role of a solid player we already have that is three years younger and at a reasonable contract.

Steven Jackson could be gone in St. Louis. Should we?

Agree with this and the others about Moore. Just thought I would share the news, even though I know it absolutely doesn't make any sense for the Saints to move on him. I was bored this AM before work and saw a Shefter update and posted it.

Nothing to see here, move along...

I was OK with any Moore drop except the one that cost Drew Brees his TD streak. I was very disappointed to see it end especially against the Falcons.

Lol don't need any former 1 or 2 WR's.. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to add somebody for depth though if Devery walks.. I really like what I see in Joe Morgan and I hope Nick Toon can eventually contribute in some way (a la Meachem?)

Dont want..WW cost me a fantasy football play off win when he dropped 6 out of 9 passes against the Texans in the Pats blowout win.

I'm not saying I want welker, I think we have 90% of welker in moore. I was just responding to people who said "no, he drops too many passes",etc. moore does too. but at a fraction of the cost

Lance has some of the best hands in the nfl. Yes he dropped some this past season, but the entire team had an incredibly bad year for pass catching (graham especially). Look at lances career for drops. That dude has some sure hands.

Moore is really good and there is no way Welker ends up with the Saints, but lol at all you homers saying Moore is even close to as good as Welker. Not a slight on Moore, but Welker is the best slot receiver in NFL history and it isn't even close.

Brady's cap figure this year is 21.5 million. That's a factor in this.

Link? Last i saw it was 13 mil

ETA Not signing Welker to the franchise tag has a lot more to do with Talib and Vollmers impending Free Agency and Welkers age/price tag than it does Bradys Cap Hit

He had one crucial drop this year. That's it. He catches 99.999% of everything but that one drop came in a huge spot. Lance might be one of the most underrated receivers in the NFL.

Have to disagree with you at least about Talib and Vollmers. LINK

Brady's 2012 cap hit was $8 million, its jumping to $21 in 2013.

The Patriots have over 30% of their cap tied up in just 3 players; Brady, Mankins and Wilfork.

When you factor in the more than 100% increase and Brady's hit is still more than the other 2 combined I don't see how you can't put Brady's contract at the top of the list.

If he were 28, sure. However, like others have said, there is just no real need. That and I would really prefer to aim for a key free agent signing like a new T or LB. Or perhaps call the Jets and see what they want for Revis...
