Minnesota loses to Carolina then green bay with Rodgers back

Saints then hold the tie-breakers for the 1 seed
What I hate about this scenario is how volatile the strength of Victory tiebreaker is. If we are going this route we actually have to pull for our biggest rivals to win. Example if in week 15 the packers beat the panthers then the vikings actually take the SoV tie breaker. It is a double hurt because two of our victories are against them.

But as everyone has pointed out, that gets thrown out in the event of a 3-way tie.
To be a little more specific, it's in a 3 (or more) way tie where all the teams didn't play each other, or where they all have the same record (1-1) against each other if they did play each other.
Since we didn't play Philly or Sea (if they win the division instead), if we finish with the same record as them at the top of the NFC, we will get the 1 seed (I'm assuming a bit that our SoV ans SoS lead still holds over Sea) no matter if any other team has the same record or worse.
Edit:
As Mike said though, there are a few scenarios where another team could finish with a better SoV or SoS, but not Philly.

quote:Yeah, I just found the ESPN playoff generator and even at a 13-3 tie between 3 teams the SoV and SoS is going to change weekly. It'll be chaos.

1) Saints beat Atl
2) Rams beat the Eagles

Thats actually not out of the realm of possibility. I'm in.

This is incorrect.
To get the 2 seed we need :
Saints win out
Rams beat eagles (or any of their opponents)
To get the 1 seed we need 1 team to beat the Vikings.
It causes a 4 way tie and we hold the tiebreaker. I believe.

Strength of Victory is the key tie breaker in a 3+ team tie for #1 seed with same record. Saints will have a stronger Strength of Victory than any team they get put up against due to being in the toughest division
