Brees choked 2018 when he missed MT and that throw in OT. He played like shite against Minn both times, but he came back. And he was obviously shot last year in the 3rd try against the Bucs. But in reality, the chokes fall on CSP.

It sucks because if the city wasn’t full of so many fricking losers, they would hold their leadership to higher standards but once a loser always a fricking loser.

He led them back both times. Maybe played like shite both was too harsh. Brees wasn't Brees anymore unfortunately. CSP wasted his prime.

If we are going to seriously discuss what went wrong in that timeframe then you have to mention all the dynamics that lead to dip in play those years.
Poor defensive evaluations draft wise, constant turnover at the defensive coordinator position, lost draft picks from "Bountygate", aging offensive weapons, Joe Vitt, Bill Johnson, not getting a deal with Brees done after the 2011 season which resulted in the loss of Carl Nicks. All those played a factor.

While his numbers say one thing, the film says another. This was around the time Brees started to lose his ability to push the ball downfield. The slow decline in arm strength stemmed from when he bruised his rotator cuff in 2015 at home against Tampa Bay.
