The Saints are getting a lot of hate for this, both for how we "treated" him and for the fact that we traded him to an in-conference opponent.
What the hell else would we do? If it comes down to taking a 6th from a team in the AFC or a 5th from a team in the NFC that isn't in our division, I'm taking the fifth ALL DAY.

I think he means moving sproles helped clear space to afford Byrd. So essentially, We moved sproles, picked up a 5th AND signed Byrd in the process.
