Bad turnovers the last few games have been frustrating, but I think the biggest problem thus far has been the 3rd down conversion. Even the win streak has been sketchy on offense.

I think that's what's separating us from just playoff hopefuls to superbowl favorites. Fix that and we're dropping 35-40 regularly.

Minnesota 4/11 (36.4%)
New England 4/12 (33.3%)
Carolina 6/12 (50.0%)
Miami 6/13 (46.2%)
Detroit 2/12 (16.7%)
Green Bay 8/15 (53.3%)
Chicago 2/9 (22.2%)
Tampa Bay 7/13 (53.8%)

Also interesting to see the 4 games we go sub 40, they were losses or nail biters.

Saints have been terrible on 3rd down this season considering they lead the NFL every year in the past it seems

I really think we need Snead back and in shape.

Right now, our offense on third down is kinda predictable; and there is no one that can just get open miraculously like Lance Moore used to (besides MT).
If we do that, I think we'll be rolling on third down.

I'd be interested to see those numbers broken down by half. In a few of our games the offense has completely bogged down by the middle of the third quarter.

This right here. I made this comment a couple weeks back. He's not an all star but Snead is a great possession receiver who is very good at finding the hole in the zone and I think that's the main thing this offense has been missing this season. If we can get him going like last year i think we see a good up tick in 3rd down percentage.

Does anyone remember third down and snead....I do
Saints desperatly need snead back, only problem is Coleman (the kneeler and dandy who doesnt fight for the ball) took sneads place, and peyton is being stubborn about bringing snead "slowly" back...

The writing is on the wall, peyton is making him pay for his "DWI" in his contract year.

The irony is we have a running game this year. Which usually leads to 3rd and manageable.

Makes no sense, but whatev's. We've won 6 in a row. I'll take it.
