I’ll take 8th please.
I would too but let's be honest. There won't be much difference in talent level between 8th -12th.
At the range you should be drafting BAP regardless of position. Where the Saints always get into trouble is they fall in love with a player or try to fill a position need and fail to remove the blinders.
I could care less of its a QB or OG or S. If he's the best rated player get him.
I'd rather have a top rated player in a position that's not a top need on the team even if you pay him a little more on the rookie scale than to keep rolling the dice on value players over talent.

They can't. They have to satisfy the Rooney Rule by having a complete process and interview 2 minority candidates. If they have to do that, they might as well have a full process.
Pretty sure this does not apply if they hire/promote from within.
It does apply, unless a coach is named as the eventual successor in his contract

I would be fine with Rizzi if you used his tenure to reset the cap. If we wins, it’s a welcome surprise, if he sucks, oh well you can hire somebody when you have good picks and cap situation. But we all know Loomis would never lower himself to that
