I actually thought they would give him a small deal.
He did start to come on towards the end of the year after sucking for so many years. Now watch him go somewhere else and turn into a Pro Bowler.

And remember that he came on as a nickel at the end, not outside. Dixon and then Frederick were the starters on the outside at the end.
