Nielsen as a DC has been a flop so far

In all honesty, one of the strengths of this team was the defense. Allen as head coach has failed there. Add in Nielsen at DC and likely the biggest strength on the defense being the DL the last few years and it has been atrocious this season.
This was why the Allen hire was such a bad idea and anyone with a brain could see it. You now have two key coaches splitting their focus on their units with minimal leadership on offense at the same time.
This is just bad management and leadership, but unfortunately not surprising.

It’s co-DCs with Allen still calling the defensive plays.

I am aware, but he is still not focusing on the DL full time and it shows. He’s been a flop because he is still officially a DC even if Co.
His unit has been awful and done nothing all season. It is even worse if people want to act like he is not even doing DC stuff.

Yep. At least secondary have injury excuses. We have gotten nothing out of DL this year except from Cam.

Oh for sure. The point I didn't articulate well was that we have three people with their hands in the defense and a subpar unit to show for it.
