Biggdogg,
They are making it about the veterans and the military when they refuse to honor the Anthem, this country and the Flag when they choose to call attention to their cause during the very thing that honors those folks! They are not doing anything to civilians by choosing that venue to display their discontent....There are other ways. They had to know this would be the response. I agree with their statement and mission. Their execution is killing their support.

I am a veteran I served this country for 10 years I feel no disrespect at all because we fought for freedom. Most of the people complaining has never given up their freedom for this country. In a military funeral, after the flag is taken off the casket of the fallen military member, it is smartly folded 13 times and then presented to the parents, spouse or child of the fallen member by a fellow service member while KNEELING.

I know how it's presented. I've been there. It sucks.
First of all, Thank you for the ten years you served and I am in debt to you for your service and sacrifice. I have no political agenda. I have no dogg in this fight. While I respect your service, I politely disagree with your analogy comparing the sacred gift of a Flag to a hero's loved one and comparing it to a poorly executed demonstration of social discourse during a time honored patronage to our country and our service members. I do not take lightly your sacrifices, nor do I beleive your sacrifices were to enable a public display of disrespect to everything you and your brothers and sisters in arms have fought for. I'm sorry if you can't understand that it is just how I was raised. I am from a different generation than you, so I'm sure something's won't make sense to either of us on both sides. I am a Patriot the way I was taught and you are a Patriot the way you were brought up. I have gotten way too caught up in this and I hope I have not offended you in any way. I stand by my convictions and I wish you well veteran!

When NFL players get tired of the topic then maybe your wishes will come true!

Trump is a calculating orange a-hole, who interjected a throwaway line in a speech in Alabama (go figure) to get people talking about this "issue" (non-issue) to throw red meat to his hardcore idiotic base, and thereby draw attention away from his Russian problem. Nothing more. That lousy frick ain't foolin' this cat for a New York minute.

I'm tired of seeing it on tv,
I just want to enjoy a football game without political agenda... Obvioisly I want to hear people's opinions on squashing the matter.

Blame the a-hole who is fanning the flame for his own political purposes.

The NFL needs to follow their own rule. They have a rule which states players/coaches will stand for the anthem with right hand over heart and left hand holding helmet by side. Violation of this rule is possible fines or suspensions. NFL made a poor decision for NOT enforcing this rule. Had they enforced their own rule, then this discussion never happens.
NFL has rules that forbid players and coaches from talking about bad calls made by officials during a game. The coaches/players that make such a statement will be fined or suspended. The NFL does not seem to care about freedom of speech which is a constitutional right in this country. It is a right, but a business can place certain restrictions on their employees.
The NFL has rules that FORCE players to speak to the media after games. Violation of rule is possible fines or suspension. Marshawn Lynch was fined $100k for not speaking to media after a game in one instance.
The NFL has rules that force speech and forbid speech. Fines or suspensions are handed down if rule is broken.
Yet, the NFL allowed a player to disrespect our country, flag, and all blood shed while defending our country.
I can not support such misguided people.

Not that I wanted tons of names but you showing 3 very PR-centric players doesn't encourage your use of the word "most" back there.

They don't have a right to protest at work.... just as I don't have the right to bare arms at work. Just fine the players $15,000 every time they protest and it will stop. Don't let the fines go up just keep it at 15,000 and donate the money to local police departments.

100% this. Very few were kneeling this year and I feel as if it would have died out completely, but then that orange f-tard had to say something stupid.

Whatever the right thing to do is I fully expect the NFL to do the opposite.
