Jenkins was pretty damn good at Corner his rookie/super bowl year. Move him back.

Our secondary was stacked that year. Greer and porter with Sharper and Harper and Jenkins at nickel. Sharper left, Jenkins moved, defense has never been the same. We should've gone after A high profile FS, kept Jenkins at nickel and eventually he would of replaced porter, instead we moved him and drafted Patrick garbage Robinson. That was a bone head move.

You can prove your own accusations. I dont follow the rest of the league nearly as close as I follow the nfc south. And I'm not just going to accept a claim like that. I think our safteys are our last concern. Lbs and dline are waaaaaaaay more important to address right now
Here ya go:

quote:

On a defense that was historically porous this season, there’s no position group that can look back and say they played well, and this was especially true at safety, where Malcolm Jenkins and Roman Harper finished as our two lowest-graded at the position. After leading the team in sacks in 2011, Harper transitioned to a deeper, more traditional safety role this season under Spagnuolo, which wasn’t the smartest move considering he’s shown little ability in coverage during his career. Jenkins, in his third season at the position, didn’t show much more in coverage and particularly struggled to finish plays — his 20 missed tackles were two short of the league-high, even though he missed the final three games.

It will be interesting to see how the two fit into the plans of whomever the team hires as defensive coordinator, but don’t be surprised if Harper becomes a cap casualty. Either way, the team definitely needs to look at upgrading a position that’s supposed to be the ‘safety-net’ of the defense, but when manned by Jenkins and Harper, sure doesn’t make you feel very safe. The two worst safeties in the league start for us.

Keep your head in the sand

New league year started at 3 p.m.

Coincidentally, the bandwagoners new year has also commenced. Everyone needs to chill. The #1 priority was to get under the cap. We got there. Its been an hour and 45 minutes, there is plenty of time to take care of things. We in no way were in the market for an enormous FA signing right away anyways because of Bushrod. Everyone bitching needs to go back to playing Madden and leading your "franchise" to Super Bowls.

Falcons going after Seymour, who I REALLY wished we would take a look at. I don't think he'll cost too much, still is a good player, and could allow Hicks to back up all 3 positions on the line.

Broncos RE Elvis Dumervil is now willing to take a pay-cut.

Updated:

Dumervil's agent surveyed the market and didn't like what he saw. Dumervil will still have to be amenable to a major reduction in his $12 million salary to have any chance of remaining in Denver. It's more likely than not he ends up a free agent.

They also both led the league in tackles. That means no one in the nfl was around the ball more than Jenkins. Not even close. Our front seven was abysmally horrible. And spags is retarded for putting Harper into so many coverage situations. Although he wasn't even the worst at that. The whole defense sucked arse last year and I stand by my opinion that the safteys were not the worst part of it.

Eyeran has pretty much hit the nail on the head with his points. Cannot disagree at all. FO has put us in a corner with mediocre players at top level prices.

So was Ryan Leaf and Keyo Craver and Curtis Enis and Cie Grant and Claude Wroten. Most draft picks turn out poorly. What's your point?

No shite.

They throw at him every chance they get. Thats of course, if they can't get it to Harper's man first.

I guess being a safety with no coverage resposnsibilites is nice work if you can get it.

Safeties having a lot of tackles really isn't a great thing.
