Not sure you can renegotiate contracts once the player is on the pup.

He's only on the PUP for 4 weeks and won't be in the offseason.

Believe he has at least the 2025 year also on his current deal, so you can spread the cap hit amongst at least 2 years.

He's got 2025 and 2026, so they could spread out his proration over 3 years

That would leave a little under $6M in dead cap for his void years.

Wait, according to the advocate putting him on PUP now puts him out for the year while they could wait and he could come back after 4 games.

What a massive screwup if true.

I love takes like these. As if the front office didn't know the procedures. Did it ever occur to you sir, that maybe it's been known for a while he wasn't playing this year?

we can stash him for a few years and still slash his cap hit (via salary reduction).

The question is if the NFL ultimately lets us do that.

If we do this and the league decides after the fact it was a big "no no", we will probably get a slap on the wrist: front office fined a few hundred grand, loss of a 1st round pick in 1 year, and a 2nd the following year.

Question is do they cut him next year as a post 6/01 and have a cap hit of $11M in 2025 ($18M reduction), and $12M in 2026 ($10M reduction).

Or do they play the game and do another restructure in 2025 to league min, which gives him a cap hit of $12.3M in 2025 ($16.8M reduction), then you make him a 6/01/26 cut. His 2026 cap hit drops to $7.3M ($19M reduction), and his 2027 cap hit will be $4.7M.

I think to do this you would have to show the league that he is really trying to make a comeback in 2025. Of course, these decisions would probably be a lot easier if they weren't knocking on the door of being $100M over the cap in 2025.

This is a real bummer even if the writing was clearly on the wall.

Both Carl Nicks and Ram were truly dominate players, and each abruptly ended by injuries. If either of them were able to enjoy career longevity their jerseys might be hanging from rafters.

I think a lot of this depends on what happens with Latt

If Latt stays on, we can probably deal with Ram next year.

If Latt is traded, it's going to be tough to also deal with Ram's pro-ration

Let’s just get it over with and Tank for Shedeur. Start Haener and Krull, that would guarantee 0-17.

I honestly think those are on the ban list for NFL players. Pat Mcafee was talking to Aaron Rogers last year about his rehab and Aaron said that stem cells weren't allowed.

What's the rationale for the ban? Those are a legitimate medical treatment.
