Porter needs to go plain and simple. Hes very replaceable. Colston is not.

It would be nice if some intelligent Saintard would compile a list of bubble cuts and their cap impact.

The Defense can't get worse, let Porter and most of the defenders walk, as long as we can keep Nicks and Colston and the offense we can definitely get better on defense on the free agent market. I didn't see a single defensive player on Saturday who deserved to stay besides Greer and Vilma

I personally feel Nicks is more important that Colston, not that I don't think we need both of them back, but big $$ offers says we lose one, or possibly both. We are going to be sweating this out, but I think our hands are tied until we finalize numbers for Drew, because we don't know what kind of dollars will be left to work with.

No doubt we will see big changes and new faces on Defense with a new DC, but I agree in that outside of Greer & Vilma, everyone is expendable...

Who are we keeping out of this group? Who do we go after in FA? Jason Jones, Amobi Okoye, Tommy Harris, Michael Bennett, Robert Mathis, Kroy Biermann, Jamaal Anderson???

Also, I'm not sure if we can keep Colston. IMO we sign Nicks and Colston takes the big money from some team like the 49ers, Panthers, Chicago, Miami or St. Louis or somebody like that. (Yeah, I know. Three of the teams we hate!)

I think they may let Colston go and try to find another "big" WR late in the draft like Jermaine Kearse, Lance Lewis, Derek Moye, Greg Childs, Brian Quick or Risard Matthews.

considering Nicks protects our most valuable asset, while Colston does not, i'm going with Nicks..... plus, there are many (i'm included in this observation) that think Nicks is actually better than Evans, and could very well be the best OL in the NFL.... at this point, especially at G, i'm leaning that way, though Joe Thomas in Cleveland, and Jake Long in Miami are very good as well, as Bulaga in Green Bay.... i'm still waiting for Oher to flip the switch in Baltimore, and if he does, he'll be up there as well....

I like it. Drew can turn a late round oversized wideout into a superstar, just like he did with Marques.

THIS!!!!!

With Brees at QB, we will be fine replacing Colston. Yes, Colston is a great WR, but we can find a good WR to replace him and not skip a beat on offense. With weapons like Graham, Moore (highly underated), Henderson, & Mecheam, plus Arrigton or whomever we put on the field, Brees will get them the ball as long as he has the right pass protection.

Keeping Nicks >>>>>>>> Keeping Colston (if it comes down to only keeping one)

Imo, id say keep the cheaper of the two.
Save a little room on cap, and ita not like brees can put the ball where he wants it. All you need is a wr that can put up two hands and catch.

Im sure there will be decent wrs at free agent that will be cheap and brees can make look good.

How could you say this about Tracy Porter? Dude had the two best interceptions in franchise history.
