I just looked at the video for Atlanta's new stadium. That retractable roof reminds me of the sphincter of a giant a-hole, which is appropriate based on the fact it is in Atlanta. There is also a "Champion's Lounge", do you think that is just for visiting fans?

Yawn. And yet our new stadium will be 10x better than the Superdome. And we'll have power that stays on in our 2019 superbowl.

This is just a ploy by the NFL to get taxpayers to dump money in to their stadiums.

Most of ATL's new stadium funding came from revenue generated by a hotel tax. So remember the next time you stay in an Atlanta hotel, my Falcons thank you!

Anyone in the industry will tell you that N.O. is one of the best, if not the best, at putting on major events because of the layout of the city which greatly enhances logistics and the people/hospitality is outstanding.

This.
The NFL makes no secret that they like coming down to the Big Easy. While we will still get SB from time to time, it'll still be hard to compete with the newest stadiums. If the Saints ever do a new stadium, the location and access to the quarter will need to be one of the main priorities.

Stadium will be better of course, but the layout of how the Dome is in the middle of basically everything you need is unmatched. That adds to the atmosphere for big events.

In Goodell's world,

"invited to bid" = put in a huge bid so that we push up our demands to the city we're REALLY giving it to

I think we get one more out of the Superdome but that is it. I expect the state and Benson (or whoever is running the team) to build a new stadium and arena for the Pelicans when the current leases are up. I made a post earlier in the year that if we can get budget similar to Minn, and ATL for football and sacramento for basketball that it could be done without additional taxes.

There isn't a need for a new stadium

If that means no more SBs (I disagree), so be it

The Superdome is a great place to watch a game, and the access to hotels, bars, and restaurants makes it the most fun location of any NFL venue I have been to (I've been to about six).

Clearly the NFL "rewards" teams with new stadiums. I think that NOLA will always be on the shortlist of places, but it will probably lose when it is competing with a new stadium. I would be very surprised if ATL does not get 2019. Not sure if the upgrades at Miami will be enough for them to get 2020, but probably. I am glad that New Orleans hasn't fallen for this "keeping up with the Joneses" facilities race.

Would we lose a home game to London the following year?

London was wonderful for that game, and if you recall it was a "W" for the Saints.

I'd go again.

I would have MUCH rathered watch the Saints beat the Chargers in the Superdome than have to watch a "home" game on tv.

With all of these up and coming new stadiums I hate to say it, but the Dome is getting left behind. Many will not admit it, but the light fiasco also dampened our rep a bit.

Yeah it has hosted many SB's before, but the NFL is looking to expand its big game to much newer stages.

Like another poster said, it'll be awhile before NO gets another one.
