Welcome to the Week 16/Game 15 Game Thread, Who Dats & Who Datettes!!!

With the season rapidly coming to a close, the playoff picture is coming better into focus with 5 of the 6 NFC playoff teams confirmed. The only 2 questions, who will get locked into what spots, including the 2 byes, and which NFC East team will undeservedly earn a home game. Of course, your Saints won the NFC South long ago and are still trying to secure a seed that gets them a first round bye, if not even the #1 seed and homefield advantage throughout

The Titans, on the other hand, are still trying to fight their way into the playoffs They lost 1 of their roads to the postseason yesterday when the Houston Texans beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to clinch the AFC South Division Championship. Now Tennessee's playoff hopes rest with the #6 Wild Card spot.

Oddly enough though, today's game may actually mean more to the Saints than the Titans. A lose today by the Titans doesn't kill their playoff hopes. They'd still get into the postseason with a win in week 17 and a loss by Pittsburgh either today to the Jets or next week to a Ravens team that may have the AFC's #1 seed wrapped up (BAL can clinch that with a win today against CLE) and be resting players for the playoffs. Meahwhile, if the Saints lose today, it wouldn't kill the Saints hopes for a top-2 seed... but would be very harmful to the cause.

LET'S TURN THE TITANS INTO LITTLE PEOPLE AND KEEP OUR HOPES FOR A BYE ALIVE AND WELL!!!

The injuries continue to go back and forth for the Saints. Kiko Alonso (Quad) & Vonn Bell (Knee) will both miss another week of action while Larry Warford's knee injury suffered last week will keep him out of today's game. The good news, however, is that Andrus Peat (forearm), Patrick Robinson (calf), & CJ Gardner-Johnson (concussion) all practiced and are all listed as QUESTIONABLE, which tells me all 3 should be able to play today.

Another thing to watch today, how will the newly-acquired CB Janoris Jenkins make his impact felt today as a Saint for the first time?

The Titans have several key injuries.WR Adam Humphries (ankle) & CB Adoree Jackson (foot) are both out of today's game. And then something major happened yesterday, RB Derrick Henry, who practiced fully on Friday and didn't have an injury designation on the Friday injury report, was downgraded to QUESTIONABLE with a hamstring injury. Downgrading a player following the final injury report suggests the player suffered a significant re-aggravation of the injury and is not anywhere near 100% heading into the contest, and may not even play at all, so Henry is a name to watch for when the inactive lists come out.

Weather: There is about a 50% chance of rain in Nashville today, with that chance peaking around kickoff and going down the rest of the day. Temperatures should be in the low to mid 50s for most of the game and wind out of the NE around 3-6 mph.

Uniforms: Back on the road means the return of the all-white uniforms

Drew Brees & Michael Thomas Record Watch: If Drew Brees completes his first 4 passes in today's game, he'll break the NFL record for most completed passes in a row (26). Michael Thomas (133 catches in 2019) is 11 catches away from breaking Marvin Harrison's NFL record (143 - 2002) for most catches in a single season.

Playoff Clinching Scenarios: The Saints have already clinched the NFC South Division Championship and can not clinch anything further today.

Current Standings:
NFC South
Saints 11-3
Bucs 7-8
Falcons 5-9
Panthers 5-9

AFC South
Texans 10-5
Titans 8-6
Colts 6-8
Jaguars 5-9

Jeffrey Simmons and Adoree Jackson also inactive

Peat is inactive and so is Warford. Frick. Time for Omameh or Clapp to step up. Should make it easier with Simmons inactive

I would imagine Omameh would take over along the line and Clapp maintain his spot as the extra lineman in big packages (the guy who reports as eligible when he's in)
