just saw this new mock draft showing that when we pick at 11 Thomas, Barnett, and foster, are all there. but then they suggest the best odds say we are taking foster, why?

I see the popular opinion expressed from most people is taking Thomas is the best pick we could hope for all day long.

I wouldn't take him on the obvious already demonstrated locker room problems he will bring to your team. we don't need a "don't you know who I am" "I am special" type of guy here

Has to be one of the most obnoxiously laid out drafts I've seen. Just list the damn players.

And we pass on Solomon Thomas and Barnett for Foster? Just don't see that happening. Agree with a CB at #32

I think there's a very good to even great chance they'd to either DE before Reuben.

Titans are probably trading thier 1st and 2nd round picks with the Pats for Cooks.

I will say that predicting the draft is absolutely impossible. Walter Football updates mock drafts like daily and I went and reviewed the last mock draft before the 2016 draft.

They got like 5 out of 32 picks right, and I think 3 of those picks were in the top 5.

Mock drafts are fun, but the real draft is a fun surprise.

No way you pass on S Thomas for Radio. Barnett would be second on that list.

I saw on Farrels mock he says:

#11- DE S Thomas (Stanford)
#32- LB. R MacMillon (Ohio State). That seems solid!!

Foster took himself off our board with his little fit.

I mean we just traded Cooks for a similar thing and are trying to keep that out of our locker room.

well I think we all take it with a grain of salt but some of these mocks they put out just seem to have no logic or common sense behind it.

its as though they only value a teams desperate needs as 10% of decision making where I think if you are going to do a mock you should at least value a teams needs as 90% of your decision making in forcasting their picks. but then im expecting mocks to make sense lol

I use fan speak premium to mock. I generally go with Matt Miller's rankings. He's usually pretty spot on but everyone has misses.
That being said, at least 2 of the 3 are always at 11.
I think Barnett is a better fit for us than Thomas if we stay a 4-3. I don't watch the PAC 12, so I'm not to familiar with him outside what I read about him. Seems like he'd do better in a 3-4 with his weight.
Foster's combine incident is the kind of stuff CSP has a hard time with in the locker room.
That's a flaw in his approach that's been hurting our team for a while. He needs to be able to manage personalities better.
Randy Moss thrived in NE. BB is good in that regard.

Actually, and this mock can be pretty confusing,it says all three could be there but actually has the Bengals taking Rueben Foster at pick 9. Basically saying he could be there but won't

From what I understand the mock actually has the teams picks as:

1. Cleveland-M Garrett
2. San Fran-Mitch Turbisky
3. Chicago-J Allen
4. Jacksonville- Jamal Adams
5. Tennessee- M Lattimore
6. NY Jets- it actually has the Jets higest percentage picking M.Lattimore but in this mock the Titans just picked him so the next highest percentage is Leonard Fournette
So 6. NY Jets-Jets Leonard Fournette
7. San Diego-Malik Hooker
8.Carolina- same thing here-the Panthers highest percentage is Leonard Fournette but with Titans picking M.Lattimore, the Jets pick Leonard Fournette and with the Jets picking Leonard Fournette the Panthers next highest percentage is RB Dalvin Cook so
8.Carolina-Dalvin Cook
9.Cincinnati-Rueben Foster (so this mock actually has R.Foster gone at #9 to the Benagals

But I can't figure out the others
So I just took it as
10. Buffalo-D. Watson

And the Saints having a two way tie at 13.8%
Between
Derek Barnett
&
Solomon Thomas

Did I get all that correct
That was alot of typing, damn

that was a pretty hard to follow way to do a mock draft, I had just skimmed it and went straight to our #11

but it is a lot easier to understand now that you laid it out better so thank you

No problem, it's definitely confusing, but I think I got it covered. Appreciate you acknowledging it and thank you for your appreciation

I wish I knew the names of the draft prospects in the others categories

Our highest percentage is actually "others"

As is Buffalo's
Buffalo has "others" leading the way with 41.4%
And then QB DeShaun Watson second with 29.3%
And WR Mike Williams third with 17.2%

The Saints have "others" as our highest percentage pick with 31%

Then a tie at second highest percentage between DE Solomon Thomas and DE Derek Barnett at 13.8%
And DE Taco Charlton at fourth higest with 12.1%
Then another tie at fifth highest percentage with both
LB Rueben Foster (who is already picked in this mock) &
CB Sidney Jones at 8.6%

And then at seventh highest percentage is CB Marshon Lattimore with 6.9% but he is already gone as well in this mock which is probably why his percentage is so low because he is probably already picked in most of the mocks they used for this data

And our last and lowest percentage is CB Quincy Wilson with 5.2% in the eighth spot

But I don't know how to see the names in the "others" category but it is probably a good bit of names mixed up to make that category so I'm assuming that we have a tie for our pick with Derek Barnett and Solomon Thomas getting the most selections in our slot so therefore in this mock

With the 11th pick in the 2017 NFL draft (I can hear Roger Goodell gettin booed in my head, haha) the New Orleans Saints select
Derek Barnett or Solomon Thomas

One thing for sure is that they have Defensive End as our biggest need then Corner Back as our second biggest need

I think the biggest unknown that could mess things up, is if the teams wanting QBs decide they are ok if they sign RG3 or Romo instead and go take unexpected picks in those spots ahead of us, or if everyone just decides not to take any QBs that high.

that could really mess up our chances of getting Thomas or barnette even though I think its a stretch we get any chance at Thomas still being there at 11

I think no. 32 pick will be interesting for this reason. Someone always leaps into the first round that was never projected that high and a few good players will be available at no.32 spot. I'm sure the Saints will get a few calls from people trying to leap back in to end of 1st round to grab some. Do we add more picks or take BAP? This year draft will be fun to watch, I see Foster and a QB maybe falling to early 2nd round.

Probably a few candy stripers on the board that would fit right in on this defense

I can't think of a better meme for silly season

If that's negative then you're looking for the wrong things in a tone setter

Once they are done at the Mega-ship-world-galatic-university. They hobble over to the NFL and get spit out...
