No. It's whether the guy you are paying elite dollars is elite. Can't pay flacco or cam big bucks.

I agree that paying a franchise quarterback makes it difficult on the roster but how does the rest of the NFL that didn’t make the playoffs shake out with this analysis. You can look at the flip side. At least half the teams in the playoffs have a franchise quarterback. So what are the odds of making the playoffs if you do have a franchise quarterback vs not? Also, what are your chances of winning it all if you have a franchise quarterback vs not?

That’s a huge discount to what he is worth. But on the flip side, his significant others for the past 15 years have made tremendous money too. So it’s not like he is after a huge payday. His first baby momma Bridget Moynahan has a net worth of $25M. Gisselle has a net worth of $360M, so a hometown discount is ok with Brady. He cares more about winning and his legacy anyway.

You are some kind of special. 2 links with citations and have been credible for years vs. some Brady nut hugger.

$22 mil this year. $27 mil next year.

Also to the poster above, $1.7 mil isn't a huge discount. It's a very modest one and it mostly came from one extension where he took less because he wanted them to keep Welker (which they pissed him off by not doing and tried to sign a cheap knock off to make him feel better).

Over their careers he took about $30 mil less total than Brees has, which comes out to about 1 and a third free years. Being that he actually missed a year that pretty much evens out.
