Vele has only really played in 5 games, the last 5. The previous 8 games he had 10 total targets.

He’s going to be a clear cut WR2 going forward and id bank on way more than 450 yards or whatever

No doubt Shough has looked way better and proven me wrong. I thought the defense needed a playmaker more than a tackle. I woulda went with Walker. Which was said in that thread. He’s a top 15 rookie, and rated top ten edge against the run in the entire league. And has potential elite pass rush ability. Fuaga was solid last year and has regressed at RT. How good would our defense be with Young and Walker right now on the edge? But you also quoted me saying Banks was a solid pick, which he has been.

And yes I liked Mason Taylor and Ezeriku in the 2nd instead of Shough. By next year, Taylor will be better than anything at te on the Saints roster. He’s been playing with absolute dog shite at qb all year on the jets. If the Jets ever find a a competent qb, you will see how good he can be.

PFF has Ezeriku rated as its 7th overall rookie in the league. A guy I said we should pick at 40 is a top 7 rated rookie.

The people i said we should have drafted would have filled the biggest holes we still have on the team. That everyone wants filled this draft. You even have some people wanting to draft another tackle this year.

Not sure what kinda gotcha you think you have when the players I named are also top 15 rookies….

Just take your L. “Muh Nuss”

Wrong again. Never said we should tank for Nuss. I said we should tank for Arch. Nuss may still be good. He was hurt all year, horrible oline, horrible offensive system.

If he dropped to the 4th round, I wouldn’t mind if we rolled the dice on him. Woukd be a good value at that point.

It’s quite hilarious you call me out tho, and the people I say we should have drafted are some of the favs for defensive rookie of the year and want me to take the L. Keep chopping buddy…

That’s not how this works. Franchise QB is the most important position. If we had done what you and the countless retards on Facebook wanted, we’d still have no quarterback and looking at a 3 win season with Rattler next year

You’re saying a tight end on pace for 400 yards and a de with two sacks (on a dogshit defense) were not the move over a franchise qb?

Once again did I say that? No, you keep lying. This team is devoid of talent. I woukd have preferred to build up the team first before looking for a qb. Most teams with shite rosters ruin young qbs.

Kudos to the saints, I think it was a low percentage gamble that has paid off so far.

As far as comparing players at this point, just remember these guys were in middle school at one time while Shough was playing college ball at Oregon.

I guess you know more than the guys who’s job it is to grade players. They have Shough rated high, so do they know what they are talking about or not?

build the roster up

The Saints drafted four other players that have started a game this season and another that has been a contributor (Stutsman). You can do both.

Like it was said above, had the Saints gone your way we’d be staring at hopefully being able to draft Mendoza who isn’t all that impressive.

Hindsight is a bitch, but Jared Verse or Laiatu Latu were were the better pick than Fuaga.

That being said, we did him no favors changing him from LT->RT, next to Ruiz, & the injury definitely plays a role in all of that.

I think we'd be better with Jalon Walker, but we would also be in a real pickle without Banks. We're running into this conundrum of needing too much talent and not enough assets to get them.

The hardest position to fix is QB, we seemingly did that with Shough. Even though yes Taylor & Ezeiruaku both look solid nfl pros. Like above, it is what it is as long as we don't MISS these picks its all about hitting on talent at this point.

Bank was and is still the correct pick

Lets wait for the season to finish and we can project how Shough would have looked over a full year. The way it stands right now before he plays a few creampuffs:

360 completions (521 attempts), 69.1 completion%, 3842 passing yards, 7.37 YPA, 17 TDs, 11 INTs; 57 sacks

357 rushing yards, 6 TDs

looks like a damn good year to me.

And I said more than a few times I liked the Saints draft outside of the 2nd and 3rd round picks.

There are other ways to obtain a qb outside the draft. Mac jones, Danny dimes, Darnold, all leading teams to the playoffs this year and were available over the offseason.

You just said you wanted to “build the roster up” before getting a qb. Why would the Saints have signed any of those three before this year?

I 100% agree with everything you said. Let’s be honest, this team has drafted like shite. We had one of the worst rosters in the league.

I thought Taylor and Ezeriku were safer picks at positions of need, rather than a 26 year old qb that’s been injured often and has been a journeyman college player.

On a team devoid of talent, I wouldn’t have risked it. I think the percentage of him working out was low. Kudos to Moore b/c I think he has coached him up big time.

Mac Jones??

if we signed Darnold, people would've lost their shite at Mickey.
Daniel Jones was a gamble and if he took you to the playoffs, you'd have to give him a $33 million per year contract minimum in 2026.

We now have Shuck, handpicked by the coach, for another 3 years on a rookie wage scale deal and can build around him in FA as well. It was always the right move

I was just saying, I didn’t want them. I wanted us to bottom out and get a top 3 pick to add more talent. It wouldn’t make sense to sign them, other than maybe Mac Jones b/c he was cheap and still young to compete with Rattler.
