You think 96 targets from Dak is the same as 96 targets from Brees?

Yea and with no other decent WRs on the field. He was routinely double covered. There simply aren't enough players on the field to double cover everyone that needs to be double covered.
This is so off base.

He was not routinely double covered. He could not get open nor could he catch catchable bals.

This isn’t a troll, just his opinion. It’s a valid opinion, but I think it’s wrong.

Exactly

but I think it’s wrong.
I hope it's wrong, we just don't have much evidence from the past 2 seasons that Dez is anywhere near peak Dez.

Not sure what part of Dez can't get open like he used to is being missed here.

If you think Dez is close to peak Dez, have at it. You're wrong, but go for it.

His past 3 seasons he's averaged about the following per game played:

4 catches 54 yards .4 TD's

That's with Dak for 2 seasons and a rotation of hurt Romo and whoever else at QB in 2015, and also nagging injuries.

The prior 3 seasons, when he had a healthy Romo (a.k.a any semblance of a good QB (cough cough Brees is way better)) he averaged:

5.6 catches 82 yards .85 TD's

If he gets anywhere close to any of those numbers, even his shitty seasons, it's a win IMO.

He’s obviously not the same player. But he can still get separation and he’s not going to be asked to do a whole lot. He’s just gotta be a realiable 3rd option to Kamara and Thomas and make defenses pay if they start to bracket Thomas or Kamara.

He’s not the first option or the second option but I think he can be really effective as the third guy. He’s gonna play with an edge. He fits in well with the temperament/chip on the shoulder guys we have here. He’s not going to light it up but I do think he can valuable in the playoffs. I have a feeling he’s going to make some critical catches for us. He might not catch 6-7 balls a game. But the 2-3 catches he has a game are going to be important

Yep, and that's getting #1 WR level targets. That's pretty bad.

of course, and it would be an absolute shocker if he did, hopefully he does.

That's kinda my point, but a lot of folks on here, see the posts above, are acting like they're getting a legit #1/#2 WR in Dez. They're not posting like they're expecting him to come in and not asked to do much.

We're mostly on the same page, as I predicted in the other thread he'll get 19 catches in the last 8 games, which is exactly in the range of your expectations as well.

Again, wont be the #1 here, and who was his QB?

Over thrown under thrown Dak isnt Brees

On the flip side, that's with average to below average QB's, while being double covered alot.

He will see absolutely zero double coverage, will have CB2 & 3's on him all game, and has a HOF QB.

Dak needed him to get 5 yds separation...Brees only needs 1.
