that CSP is keeping his options open concerning where he coaches next year. According to Trip, the Saints and CSP have been free to negotiate for the past two weeks, but nothing.

Now I don't think anyone can accuse Triplett of being a hater, right?

Anyway, what I would like to know is if you guys think that CSP owes it to Mr. Benson, the Saints, and Saints fans to resign the extension ($8 million per year) due to the unwavering support he has received, or he has every right to try and get even more money or go to the Cowboys?

I just want you sunshine pumpers to know that I'm not trolling here but would really like to know your thoughts and why.

The question is do you think he has the right to try and get more money, go to another team, or he has the obligation to stay with the Saints.

The question has nothing to do with if he will go, what he said, e.t.c.

there is real chance that SP might leave to dallas despite what the cool aid drinkers on here think

I mean, he signed a contract extension last year and fully intended to stay with us throughout it. The fact that Goodell voided it should mean nothing to him. He knows it would be absolutely douche-tastic to just blow us off when he was already committed and escaped just because of a loophole.

That being said, I don't blame him for keeping his options available. If anything, this season has proved how much we need him, and I'm sure he would have no issue using that as leverage to get more money.

Can't you just answer the question or give your opinion? Or are you just too stupid?

Let me give you an example by giving my opinion:

I think CSP owes it to the Saints organization and to Saints fans to remain with the Saints as its head coach. I do not think he should use his new found leverage to renegotiate for more money or to sign with another team. I feel this way because Mr. Benson and Saints fans have been supportive of CSP through out this whole ordeal and as a show of respect to Mr. Benson and Saints fans he should resign the extension as is concerning years and pay.

he still had one year on his old contract. I think they are trying to decide if that one year counted this year or not since he didn't coach.

It is about time that the drama ends. This year has gone in the crapper.

I can't handle a consecutive crapper year.

CSP to Dallas will assure a second crapper year. Book it.

I hope CSP, ML, and TB gets a deal done quickly.

I plan to hibernate this winter. Don't care what anyone else does.

If Goodell wanted to make a few friends in NOLA, he would require CSP to make up that one year that he lost due to the suspension.

It damn sure should not count.

And the real question should be.....Do you think Benson should RE RE negotiate SP,s contract ?

I'm not sure Benson will.

I thunk the main reason SP will be back is Drew Brees, the QB he turned into a super star.

Its a lame arse question.
Is water wet.
Is jeff a trollass.
Do we have a right to breath etc.
Ask smart questions and you won't look like such a troll.
We all know he is free (has a right) to leave and sign where he wants to. D.A.
As to his 'obligations' only CSP knows those so thanks for wasting time.

Dave Campo, Jason Garrett, a bankrupt 70 year old Bill Parcells, Wade Phillips and Sean Payton.

One of these things is not like the other... (in the prime of their coaching career/currently the architect of their own NFL franchise/beloved by a fan base/tied at the hip to a Pro Bowl QB/already getting paid millions/already says he will be the coach of a team next year)

Blues, Breesus, Goatmilker & Jazzy Jeff

One of these things is not like the other... (a middle age troll who keeps making accusations over and over again to rile up people on a website despite all the reasons people have already posted showing why his baseless thoughts are worthless, unsubstantiated and nothing more than a pathetic attempt to get people upset. How 'bout this Jizzy, unless you can come up with some rational, reason besides Jerry Jones will pay a bunch of money <which he doesn't do\he also doesn't give up power either> stop posting your worthless troll attempts on this board and go fap yourself with some razor wire)

I think Duncan hacked Trip's computer at the T-P and submitted his article as Trip's.

Seriously though, the only reason this is written about is because we don't likely have any playoff related articles and nobody cares about Tampa.

So you are Mike Triplett and Jeff Duncan?

i kid. i kid. Here is my serious answer Mikeff Tipluncan:

quote:

what I would like to know is if you guys think that CSP owes it

He doesnt owe us anything. But i think he is coming back because he built this team, he loves drew brees and there is not one single good thing about going to the cowboys at all except money. If you try to argue with me again the Romo can be an elite QB on the same level as Brees with CSP there ima fly to Japan and kick you in the nuts. Money is the only thing, and i think Benson will out match any offer anyway.

quote:

he has every right to try and get even more money

Yes he has the right to try and get more money. This is America, and specifically professional sports in america. Every single person involved in professional sports since the beginning of professional sports tries to get the best contract they can get. CSP is obviously the brain and soul and head of this team and Benson should pay that mother fricker a shitload of money. It doesnt affect the cap, it doesnt affect player salaries, it doesnt affect anything in the world except Benson's pocket and if CSP brings us another ring it will more than make up for w/e Benson pays him.

quote:

or go to the Cowboys?

Yes, if his contract is voided he does have the right to go where ever he wants, however i strongly believe he will no go anywhere for the aforementioned reasons.

quote:

I just want you sunshine pumpers to know that I'm not trolling here

You know throwing the word sunshine pumpers in there is almost a troll, right Mikeff Tipluncan?

The only thing that makes this even remotely possible is the potential reinstatement of Payton.

If he were unable to negotiate terms with other teams until after the SB, i think it would be difficult for someone to grab him. Most vacancies are filled by then or are in process, and thats a long time for an organization to wait to make a coaching change.

conversely, if Payton is reinstated next week or whatever, it becomes more logistically possible.

That being said, here's where i put the odds on him leaving:

reinstated after SB: <5%
reinstated by the end of the reg season: <20%

In today's NFL loyalty only exists as long as you have an enforceable contract. I hope Payton isn't trying to leave, but I have no problem with him trying to get more money out of Benson, especially since this season highlighted his value to the team.

Why does it matter as long as he's back? He doesn't effect the cap. Who cares how much he makes?

It would be worth alittle more for him to be here from now on I think.

Do I think he's owed a big raise? No.

Do I care if he gets it? No.

Do I want him to get it? If it keeps him in New Orleans, Yes.

In a way, most of us agreed that Drew deserved his money because of what he's done for this team and New Orleans. Has CSP not done enough by rebuilding this team and giving saints fans the greatest gift of all? I could give a damn how much he makes. So long as he's back with the Saints. We've all witnessed what it's like without him.

I can see both sides looking at everything and saying it's time to move forward away from each other

I don't expect SP to ever coach the Saints again. This baggage is too much to carry going forward Im afraid
